I am sure that would work just fine. This is the wrap that I prefer and use. I have had it on my truck for 3.5+ years. If it wasn't a pain I would unwrap it for you guys, but I am really not too worried about it.

Titanium™ Exhaust Wrap

Thanks! They are cheap enough to just throw it on and forget about it.

I had no issues with my cheap exchaust wrap but I’m in dry CA with no salt on the road.

No sign up. Once ready to take pre-orders I will be giving one-week notice through all of my social media venues. My goal is to have every piece of the kit either manufactured or in manufacturing. The pre-orders will cover the costs of the wastegate and turbos themselves. These are the largest bulk items I need to purchase and I will be waiting til the last moment because it’s a ton of money to have collecting on my shelf.

Thanks for all the great feedback. When this fine piece of work shows up I want to make sure I'm dressing her up like a classy lady, not like some cheap date!

I'm planning on slapping that dirty bitch on the ass like she owes me money.....wanna see that fine SS change color and look purdy nekkid style :deadhorse:

Even better:grinpimp:

Thank you! I will mark this post to update me on this. I had a supercharger on my old 97 LX450 and just picked up a 96 LX450. I will have boost one way or the other!

My guess is the turbo will surprise you. :)

I'd like to be surprised too but alas I am no longer a Toyota Dealer Parts Manager. A semi-retired museum dude doesn't have the same resourses:crybaby:

I need to develope a Turbo Burrito Warmer :hmm:

That turbo oughta produce enough heat in that area to cook the hood paint, so burritos anit no big deal!

My turbo oil return drain line bracket is installed on my upper oil pan & ready the the rest of the kit.

The part truely was “bolt on” while engine is in the rig. I was fearful it would be a total pain in the ass getting tools in there to do the work. But apparently it wasn’t.

Full disclosure: I had my mechanic shop do the install (drill & tap pan) for me while I had it in for some other repairs & maintenance.

It wasn’t a problem getting it in there. The part had all necessary drill bits, taps, & an alignment dowl too.

The lower oil pan was able to be dropped to catch any metal bits that may find their way inside & new sealant put on the lower pan was a nice addition as a “while your in there”....

I would say that if you messed up the install, it would be a HUGE pain in the ass to fix. If you’ve never drilled/tapped before & mess it up, I would imagine you would have to pull engine to remove the upper pan & replace with another used pan (part is discontinued for Toyota). I’m just assuming that is what it would take, but maybe someone else can confirm.

There is one person that did "mess up" the install and had to get creative to repair it. I'll let him chime in on what happened. I know he's following this thread ;)

Just got off the phone with the emissions lab. Little speed bumps. The new cats are in and fine but the starter finally took a dump. Dylan warned it was acting funky. I considered rebuilding the starter before sending it over but it seemed ok. I should have changed it out. So they changed out the starter today.

The truck now is scheduled to be tested again Friday morning and SHOULD be ready to go by 10am. The problem now is if I leave right after and head to my buddy's shop, I won't have time to have it HP Dyno'd. That would suck because then I wouldn't have pre-turbo numbers. I suppose I could use another similarly built truck but that isn't ideal at all. If I hold off until the dyno shop can fit me in next week, then it means I might not be able to drive out til end of Feb. This could potentially push everything back by at least one month. I'm doing what I can to move things along. :(

That sucks, but I REALLY want before/after dyno to get a more accurate idea of actual gains.
