Can this be installed concurrently with an under frame hitch?

Looks sturdy. I would be tempted to impulse buy but I‘m going on a trip too soon from now.

May I borrow it? ;). I’m only partly kidding.
I can let you know when it comes in if you would like to check it out if you're considering purchasing. You could see it before or after install just let me know. I am located in SW Littleton just off Wadsworth near Ken Caryl. Cheers

Looks sturdy. Still expensive, TBH, but much less than a bumper. I would be tempted to impulse buy but I‘m going on a trip too soon from now.
This is exactly what I have been needing so I had to impulse buy upon seeing it.
Cheapest aftermarket tire carrier bumper I could find was from BIO in Foco from $2000+ and a few months lead time. I just completed Hell's Revenge with my buddy (He did Hell's Gate, I did not) in our stock rear bumper 80's. We bashed our trailer hitches a good bit but never came close to requiring more clearance. IMO the stock trailer hitch is perfectly fit to get you through 99% of OHV trails and protect the bumper so the extra $1200 to do a full high clearance bumper did not make sense for me, but having a super accessible 33" spare tire for $820 shipped did.

Yes it will fit with a under frame hitch.

It will not work with the Pintle hitch mount in the middle of the bumper. We use that mounting for the middle bracket.

Currently all orders have been filled! I am going to build a few more to have inventory ready to ship.

Still working on instructions but I will email those out and post them on my website once finished.

Thanks everyone!

For those that need a spare tire carrier but don't want to spend thousands on a new bumper, here's the solution. These pictures are of the first prototype, minor changes may be made.

This kit is mostly bolt on, a hole will need to be drilled through the bumper plastic and some of the plastic on the middle of LX models (as shown). There are also 2 bolts on the frame of LX models that were used that I don't think are on Land Cruisers that will need to be drilled. NO WELDING NECESSARY.

Features:

CNC cut from ¼” USA steel, designed and assembled in Tampa Florida.

Kit includes all hardware needed for installation. Grade 8 or equivalent mounting hardware. Lug nuts not included.

Locking latch handle.

Greaseable roller bearing spindle

Will be shipped bare, unpainted; however, I am looking into powder coat and LineX bedliner options.

Fits up to a 37” tire without blocking the tail lights

The swinging portion is about 45 pounds and the entire assembly is about 65.

Happy to post more pictures or answer any questions. Any feedback is welcomed. I will keep this thread up to date on any changes or additions.

Price is $700 plus shipping.
Do you have a price for a powder coated one?

I'm concerned with it getting scratched in shipping. I can let you know the cost and maybe you can find a local powder coater. Then at least you'll have a ballpark on cost.
Also, are they still $700 plus shipping or is it updated to $820 like on the website?

I need some help from the community. On the 96 LX we built this on there are two holes at the end of the frame where the plastic bumper support bolts to the frame. In my research it seems like that piece might not be bolted on older models. Anyone know what years this changed?

It's not critical for these holes to be used but highly recommended. To install the tire carrier that bracket must be removed.

hey matt, jimmy here. we spoke over email about this but I thought I'd upload a picture for everyone else to see.

fyi - I have '93 fzj80 and my bracket is not welded.

it means no cutting, just bolt-on.

im curious if maybe the lexus models only have the welded bracket.
I built this off of a 96 Lexus. I think it was a certain year that changed. I just haven't been able to find which year. So far 93-96 have a bolt on bracket.

Thanks for posting everyone!

I've finished the installation instructions and have them posted on my website click here.
Thanks Matt, I went over the instructions and wanted to just clarify something.

The part that I circled in Blue, does that sit OVER the bracket that would need to be removed?

I’ve never disassembled the rear bumper, so I’m not familiar with the anatomy of it lol.
