My BJ74 is headed to the spa tomorrow for a ~1 month stay and rehab. Plans are new lower front fenders and hood (OEM of course), repair both quarter panels, address door dings and other trail bruises, fill in a few extra holes in the body and FRP top and a re-spray in the original 4G8 gold with the top remaining white. No rust repair required...:flipoff2:

The stripes are going and I will be using HJ61 red "TURBO" decals on the doors. I can hardly wait........:bounce: :grinpimp:

The goal is to make an almost, but not quite, to-nice-to-wheel truck. There will also be a JDM Aiba Works aluminum rack on the roof and, hopefully, a Metal Tech rear bumper in time for Cruise Moab.

Here is a going in look. I will get during shots as time and opportunity permit.

By the way....how the hell does one get the plastic hinge covers off of the windshield frame and back doors without destroying them?

You're credit points will skyrocket with all the mudders, but how is wifey feeling towards the 74 considering thats where your affection is centered. Dohhhh....?..
The gold mobile will look very sharp, ............... Back to you question, I lifted the plastic windscreen covers using lever/ flathead screwdriver with cloth and small block to leverage while jiggling cover with other hand, it lifted off quite quickly , from memory squeeze cover side to side to bow cover while lift/ levarge from top , or they may no trick at all, I just got lucky, Haven't attempted the back door covers,
can't wait see the new coat of jam, Cheers

Yeah bro!!!!

:)

Can't wait to see how Maurer's does with yet another "exotic" Land Cruiser.

Automotive Impressions is doing it. Scheduling and cost conflicts.

I would keep the graphics .......... :D

I'm on the fence. I like the way yours looks with the turbo decals on the doors. That's why I chose the red version for the gold paint. I could always go back to the original stripes if I change my mind.

Those parts are currently on Ebay with a very reasonable "buy it now price."
