SOLD SOLD SOLD!!!
Custom, rare, completely restored Bj60 (running gear and frame) with an HJ61 High Roof body.
This project involved swapping a RHD body onto a LHD chassis. Essentially I swapped firewalls...every spot weld removed from each firewall, swapped, and re-fitted into place. This required a complete tear down of the front clip...every hose, wire, harness, and bolt that was attached to the firewall.
This project required over 1000hrs to complete.
The BJ60 frame was repaired as necessary and painted.
The HJ61 body was repaired (what little rust there was on it), and painted.
DETAILS:
Price $20,000 CAD (or equivalent in USD)
Year(s): '83 frame and running gear. '89 Body (high roof)
Make: BJ60 & HJ61
Voltage: 12v (original BJ60 harness)
Body Condition:
- Zero rust.
- This body was completely torn down to metal, repaired where necessary, and painted both inside and out.
- Rear quarters chopped.
- Dynamat sound dampening material installed throughout floor, ceiling, quarters, and door panels.
Frame condition: Very good.
- Removed all rust and weak spots, welded in 3/16" new metal.
- Reinforced rear section.
- All body mounts replaced.
- Painted and wax sealed.
- "Mouse holes" every 24" for easy access to inside frame rails for rinsing out dirt/mud and re-applying protective sealants.
Running Gear:
- 3B 3.4L Diesel engine with 440,000 KMS (275,000 miles). No turbo. Purrs like a kitten.
- 5spd H55F Transmission.
- 4.56 gears
- 35" General Grabber AT2 (near new)
- Front axles rebuilt last year.
- Open diffs, no lockers.
Lift: SOA
- Not cut and turned. Been like that for almost 20yrs.
- Stock springs. Have a set of new(er) used springs to swap in if desired.
Hardware:
- Blacked out all chrome.
- Every bolt removed, re-tapped, and anti-seize applied.
Interior: Very good.
- NO headliner. The original wasn't in good shape. I had plans to build a custom storage box in the rear ceiling section because of the High Roof, but didn't get around to it. It currently has the Dynamat liner exposed.
- Turbo seats up front (HJ61).
- 50/50 split in rear (HJ61)
- Brown carpet. One piece near shifter isn't perfect because carpet came out of an auto and this is a 5spd.
Bumpers:
- Custom front with Ramsey 9500lb winch.
- Custom rear with spare tire and fuel storage.
This project was a dream come true. If I keep it I will continue to modify it and make it an expedition overlander rig. But our family could use the money elsewhere at this time so this is the best way for me to do that.
If a restoration shop were to have done this job, and at half the hours (500) @ $80/hr, it would be $40,000 just for the body swap and paint job, never mind the rest of the truck! So please, I'm not interested in any offers except what I'm asking, and if you think it's too much then buy your own rig and restore it yourself. If you know how rare a LHD High Roof BJ60 is (doesn't exist unless you build it), and you appreciate the work that's gone into this rig, then let's talk.
I will not entertain any offers unless they are more than the asking price
Thanks for your interest and I will post more pics as I have time to take them and they are requested by serious potential buyers.
THIS TRUCK IS IN BRITISH COLUMBIA, CANADA. It is my understanding that it can be imported to the USA as it's over 25yrs old.
Here's a link to a quick overview of the restoration and there's a link on that thread to the actual rebuild process which is more exhaustive.

Below are a few photos to give you a taste of what the truck looks like today.
If you are a serious buyer please PM me. Priority will be given to those in my inbox and not in comments, although if you express interest in the comments I will do my best to contact you with more info.
Cheers!
