Oh so nice and clean. Looks new bud. Getting antsy yet? Tofudebeest is a nasty, dirty bitch in comparison (AND WAY FAR BEHIND).

You have some kind of naming ceremony in mind?
HOT DAMN! New tradition!

Anyone doing a TLC diesel swap, (personally, I'd wanna disqualify people swapping in non-OEM engines) or other major TLC project or restoration that would constitute a "rebirth" gets to register at their retailer or vendor of choice, with their wish list. Muders and friends/family could chip in on goodies as a slap on the back for keep the Cruiser alive and running.

Absolutely awesome man. I am acquiring a junker 62 to go thrash on the trails, but you make me want to make it new and treat it like a queen.

How about hammered black? I am also painting the shroud this color.

The filter housing needs to be modified before it gets painted.

I used semi gloss black on the 3b ac compressor mounting bracket.

I will use gloss smoke, on the oil pan, once the oil return bung is installed.

As for naming the rig, how about:

Dude, is that a rusty or just primed master cylinder? And are you magically levitating that hod? No hinge springs, no hand in the frame, no prop rod holding it up...wtf?
Gonna paint the turbo?

3b side panel installed.

I am getting ready to mount the turbo.

new manifold studs 90116-10150

and bolts 90179-10010

Both were in stock at the parts counter.

edit: the 3bt manifold required 2 m8 125 thread 70mm bolts for the 2 bottom center holes

the 10150's were too short

turbo prep-

Gunnar tapped the 3bt manifold for the egt guage sensor.

I swapped the cast iron turbo exhaust flange with a mild steel version from ebay.

The new exhaust system will be welded to the steel flange.

edit egt sensor should have been mounted further away from the hot side of the turbo (other side)

The oem 3b ac bracket required the oil pressure sending unit to be relocated.

There is a pre existing hole available in the oil galley .

I used a t fitting here to supply oil to the turbo and the pressure sending unit.
