Thats the nice thing about doing a hybrid pack. You can usually tweak them just right even after they settle and that offset is great. So far that sounds just right, man the diesel is going to be sweet in that rig.

Yeah, I gave it the "bounce test" and with just my weight they seemed pretty nice. Not super soft but not rigid either.

I can't wait to get this truck driveable.

Ok, well I saw Pete was working so I got the itch to work on mine. Plus I was getting cabin fever in the new place so I had to get out.
I had a couple actuators from the BJ so I decided to do a little mod to my hood so I won't need the metal rod to hold it up.

Here we go.

Now it goes up super easy and stays wherever I leave it.
BTW one rod is enough but I had both with me so I put them both on.

Nice pics for sure....
CASH is a cool name too.

Gonna take that shock idea too :wrench:

I took my springs off and just ran the 90# shocks/cat launchers... better hold on to the hood or it'll fly open quick and watch your fingers on the way down as well. BUT, there's no more **** rod in the way when working under the hood..:clap:

That rig sounds amazing with the turbo

HaHa well then it will sound even better when it really is turbo'd! I have not put the turbo in yet unfortunately. There is to many things topping the list before the turbo. Maybe thats the sound of the sweet sweet veggie oil burning :p
To top that all off I am paying Yohavos for a RTT and his trailer tomorrow... sooo more projects haha.
But I do hope to hear that sweet whistle real soon.

So those hood shocks are probably the best cheap things I have done to the rig man its nice :hillbilly:

Cat launchers thats great  I didn't even think about taking the springs off all together. They where a little in the way when trying to bust all the trigonometry out (psh right I old schooled that $***) How much do they help support? I guess I doubt I need them since only one shock was plenty.

Mine will raise the hood on their own after I help assist with the initial lift, about 12", then the shocks take over for the remaining lift. I have to PULL the hood down. I had my hood up for about a week straight with no sag or sign of the shocks letting up.

Factory springs by now are old and tired. They help assist a little but not much anymore on my rig.

Over time they will relax and loosen up slightly as all shocks do.

Got mine at McMaster-Carr. Pretty reasonable and come with ball and eye ends.

Nice, thanks for that link. Those are cheap too! Getting rid of those springs would have allowed me to get a better angle as well.
I was just talking to a 80 series guy about mc carr and buying them there but he seemed to think they were alot more money. So thats good to know.
Those 100# 10.24" strokes look temping haha.

I love that site, Post a link of yours on here if you want, It would be good to see what angle/location you where able to get.

I like the truck Snow! Not many came with the girl option. That's a keeper. I like the utilitarian wheels a lot. they make the truck look no-nonsense.
