Well I managed to broke both bolts off the tail gate latch while trying to adjust it. So I had to drill it and use a out, easy enough. Then we built my front driveline and that was a bugger! first off the t-case flange and diff flange where both different. The splines were the same but the diameter on the outside was squashing my seal so I just fill welded my holes and then re drilled them to fit the mini truck ujoints.

... that took almost all day it was just one thing after the other, not my day:bang:. But we measured for length, cut, welded and its over now blah.

I got a few things in the mail this week from Kurt, the badly needed knuckle rebuild, most specially trunnion bearings. As well as my rear locker. So I am hoping to get those done this weekend... baby allowing.

I also picked up this bad boy at p&p I just couldn't help myself. So there will be a turbo manifold build coming soon  go fast!:steer:
I can't wait.

I feel like I have so many projects on this thing half done! oh well at least I get to drive her everyday.

Here is a good (random) example of some wvo oil separation. Water on bottom animal fats and water in the middle, and pure (well not yet) energy up top. That was left in the sun for a couple days and its one of my drag cubbies. It takes maybe 7-10 drags from cubbies to fill one up then I poor off the top. That one for sure started with water in it though.

Some one seriously tried stealing them!? Thats horrible, and right out side the junk yard? He's got some serious cajones on him! But I digress...what kind turbo did you pick up!? I'm excited to know more!

I run bushings on top as you can see there is no hiem end, and hiem on the lowers. I was kind of out of it and tired that day so I don't know if they saw me coming or what. but the lowers are double nutted and super tight. The problem is even though you are not suppose to work on your vehicles in the parking lot people still always do. There were a couple guys trying to break in to their car/a car the other day for like two hours while I was there. psh.

At any rate I just grabbed the bushing and bolt and put them back in.

The turbo is a Mitsubishi td05-12b with a 6cm (41ish maybe 45ish) a/r. There is no map for it unfortunately but the compressor is good for about 350cfm @14psi so I think I figured it will start dropping off at around 3000rpm which is where I shift max usually. I hope it will work good in low rpms like I want it to, I will have to do some work on the waste gate. Everything seems to be set up perfect already though nice big oil drain right off the bottom I won't even have to clock it, and its water cooled as well! Seems like everything lines up just right.

Talk about Balls I had some kids try stealing some stuff out of my car one morning I was home! They got the s*** scare out of them though, and several broken windows out of their car as well as me jumping through one of the windows I broke holding my machete up to the drivers neck letting them know if they ever come back Ill... well you get the point.

Man, I also forgot about this, A fellow mudder from our club sold me a rtt and gave me a m101 that has a partial build of a m416 look done to it. shouldn't be to hard to finish up. The trailer has the same STA super lugs I have on my truck to, what a score. Thanks Yovahos

Threw in the locker this morning, man that was easy talk about drop in.

Then we went on to the knuckle rebuild because it was much needed and I didn't want to wait any longer.
Well if you have done one before you know its a messy and somewhat drawn out maintenance. My lower turning bearing was stuck on the lower cap freaking wailing on that thing with the drift finally got it loose. everything else was going great until my front right brake caliper wouldn't tighten up. Resized it was striped out and judging by the surface had been lost for some time. How the heck someone strips out 3/4" of 12mm threads I have no idea. Then the brake hardline snapped. blah, ah well I picked up new hardline and tap as well as soft lines that looked like they were about to burst. A new bolt and I will be good as new I hope.

Sorry no pics of the locker, to messy to get the camera out.

Air tools... that's how they strip out that much thread. I can't tell you how many times I've run across it on my stuff or someone telling me about it. They think they have the bolt started and grab the air wrench or impact...

Just my opinion though... BUT I KNOW I'M RIGHT !!

I know, you are right! I should have just taking the time to throw some 4runner calies in but we are tight on money. Last pay period I only had 35 hours... for two weeks.

My little 11 y/o brother was with us for the weekend so he had his first :wrench:ing session. My pops doesn't do much with him so we called it early and went fishing. But before that I finally grabbed and used the rivnut gun today, man those things are awesome! Thanks J for that. I did mine and hers grab handles mostly to help her get in. She says she wants another one up higher too, luckily I have a few more but it will end up being kind of crowded looking but hey whatever the :princess: wants ;)

I also got rid of old rusty finally, she had been sitting in the back yard and now that we are renting that house out I figured we had better get rid of her. I think I took her for most everything she was worth, except the manual steering box, kind of kicking myself for not grabbing that. got almost all the glass, and I grabbed the front doors for you know what

Those grab handles look familiar.. Those rivnut guns are nice to have around. Glad to help out there Snowman. My wife hasn't been for a ride yet in Marley but, would love one right above the one I installed in the bend of the door frame.

I'm hoping that by the time the sliders go on that will be enough but, if not, I'll install another handle for her.

J

Yea, the wife and the dog as well are on me for the sliders. Specially the dog she thinks she is getting old or something, funny thing is when I am not around she hops in just fine. Sadly I have been there when she has fallen on her back a few times when trying to get in, I think it may just be a show though silly dog.

How far out are your sliders?

I haven't had much time for the build, but that don't mean I haven't been having fun!

I was kicking myself for not bring a real camera on that run, those bulls were gorgeous! We also saw a Bobcat so that was a fun fishing trip.

I got to drive around this ford and pull him out of this little snow patch.

We ending up getting followed by some heaps who would have turned around. Little did they know we cut the log just wide enough for cruisers but to skinny for those ungodly heap tires that stick out so far! haha j/k

I sprung a Radiator leak heading back up and out of the pass so we let her cool, dropped a leftover egg in and she was good to go. Time for a new Radiator! I think I will grab a rad/intercooler/oil cooler combo :)

Been a while since I checked in... some great pics from an awesome weekend!

Hoping you get the radiator issue resolved before our 27th trip!

Mike

Looking good Snow. I like the look of your rig. I want to hear how the turbo functions. Shuold be pretty cool.

I keep thinking that I will take some time off from my build as I spend more money, then I look at everyone's progress and get the itch to do something.
