Very cool Snow, enjoy the time with the little one... They grow like weeds and then those days are gone.

Cute kid.... Must takes after the MRS. HA!

Oh for sure!

Been a while since I checked in... some great pics from an awesome weekend!

Hoping you get the radiator issue resolved before our 27th trip!

Mike

Yea, well for now its patched so we are good ;) I am throwing a elec fan on to before the trip... as long as I get some time before then. Just worked a 12 and then a 13 hour day. I will be happy when the paycheck gets here

Looking good Snow. I like the look of your rig. I want to hear how the turbo functions. Shuold be pretty cool.

I keep thinking that I will take some time off from my build as I spend more money, then I look at everyone's progress and get the itch to do something.

For sure, I can't wait to start working on the turbo! And I know the feeling, I always get the itch to work on her more when I am on here catching up on all ya'lls

Well slowly but surely little things are getting done. I took cash to mCclendons for these, and then snuck in some time to install them.

And of corse, I added more to my list of things to do, it keeps adding up faster then I get anything done thats for sure! I am going to do some side panels and possible a tailgate cargo area like wagon gears but not as nice, working with hdpe don't seem too hard haha, we will see.

Meen while I did order some real goodies for one of the real projects on her :p

Flashlight clips, the ones for the flashlight on the dash are the smaller size, and these are the larger size. They work better then I ever would have thought, there is no doubt they will hold even when wheeling, They also have a pretty good range in the size they can accept.

I've got 3 sets of those. One for my Maglite. I was gonna use the other two pair to make a license plate holder that mounts on my winch fairlead.

Great...Now I need to order another set... JEEZ!!!

Now thats a good idea!

Now thats a good idea!

I made one before with one set but, I used a hinge and piece of angle iron to keep it on permanently. Clips just kept it from bouncing around. I was thinking of two sets without the hinge to be able to pull it completely off. Wonder how many times it'll get stolen... if I do that... Have to think about this idea some more i suppose.

The ideas are always coming up Snowman. Feel free to use it and adapt to fit your application.

J

eh I don't think it would, the nice thing about that is you have the option to "close" your winch in with a bolt on cover like a diff cover. Then with that over the fairlead its completely hidden. But I guess there are easier ways to keep your winch from being stolen...

HA! I was talking about someone walking off with my license plate. If I was worried about the winch I'd just tack weld the nuts to the frame and winch plate and then tack the threads as well.

No its at the shop with the other most important half of my tools, I just used some non tappers and pushed hard. I figured they are small and un invasive so if they give me trouble I will pop some rivnuts in. I would have, but I wanted to get at least one thing done this weekend haha.

I hear ya. I wanted to get more done as well but, sometimes the family comes first.

Oh I know, I just have always liked the idea of a hidden winch, and the clipped on license plate is a perfect final piece to the puzzle.

Great use of those clips and nice security system, American Staffordshire Terrier?

We are not sure, my friends found her at the dump when she 2 1/2-3 months old and it was right at the time I was looking for a non america, staffordshire bull terrier. She needed a home and I figured it was close enough and better then forking out 1200$
Where they found her they breaded pits nearby, she had already gotten mange which only got worse for about a year, her ears had bite marks in them and she was needless to say a wreck. She would go off and bark like crazy at anything and everything. It took a lot of love and work but not long before she was running around public everywhere I went.
And she still goes everywhere I do, she actually sleeps at night in the truck, I don't know why but thats what she wants lol.
At any rate I believe she is pure pit, she is small unlike the staff/pit bully bloodlines you mostly see now.

She does need a friend though, now you got me thinking about getting staffy again! :bounce::bounce2::bounce:

Staffys are great dogs, my last one was the sweetest animal I ever met. They are definitely bigger than pure pits. My girl weighed in at around 85lbs of pure muscle.
Nice of you to take her in, totally worth the work in the end. Sorta like these cruisers.

alright well its about time for a update, trying to think of what I have really done in this time. Work has been so busy so I have been sneaking in here and there to work on her.

We did a run east of the mountains where its nice a hot, that was fun. I need to re mount my rear shocks which I will do tomorrow because it fell off in the middle of nowhere and blasted through my rear waste oil tanks heater line so I lost all my coolant. We had to sacrifice everyones drinking water dogs included to fill her back up but we managed :) I was also bottoming out so I need a little more travel out of them.
I also was having some over heating problems on that trip even after installing a ford tarus (or was it escort) two speed fan (which by the way fan and shroud work great and fit great for our rads). well when I got home I realized the 3B rad is only a 3 core while the FJ rad I had in my garage was a 4core so I got some pre shaped hose from napa and installed the FJ 4core radiator in, as well as a thermo switch so it would come on and off by its self. So all and all a good testing trip, oh I almost tipped her fully loaded with the fam in and all but thats another story (just dont try a hill clime in RWD only without rear brakes). I had to be to quick to shift and work the fronts brakes w/the engine to keep her from loosing it. Ah good times.

I was able to install a volvo ps pump with remote res I am not sure if its a siginaw or what but man it sure works great! its so nice having all the control again. the mounting holes where barely different then the yotas and took very little fab work.

here are some pics, tomorrow I need to tackle the shock remounting, I am going back to the hiem ends I believe. No pics of the Rad I will post those tomorrow or therafter.

This ps pump is way smaller but seems to have more pressure and output.
you can see the remote res in the top part of this first picture.

Love how those tires and wheels look on your rig Snow! A couple questions:
Are the tires siped?
If not, have driven on em in the rain?
If so, does it seem to lose traction?
I really like the tall and skinny look, wish BFG made something taller than a 33x10.5, (I have the stock 15" wagon wheels), REALLY want a set of Swamper 34 x10.5 or 34 x9.5, but none are siped, and it rains a little here in San Diego. Our wagon is the Wife's DD. Granted, she only has a 5 mile round trip to work, but still, safety first! We drive a lot on the weekends to...
Thanks in advance,

Danny
