Gent,

I'll be looking at possibly purchasing a 77 BJ40 diesel that has a factory heater delete. Probably because it was a Central America vehicle.

I have not inspected the vehicle yet and was wondering if the B engine has any provisions for heater hoses so I can add an aftermarket heater. I live in Va. so I'll definitely need some heat in the winter.

Much thanks,

John

I bought a used OEM heater that I plan to install in mine. I will need to cut the firewall but everything should mount in the same location as if it had it already. I have seem a few that had a plate bolted to he firewall where the heater would be which would make it a bit easier to add it.

On the early FJ40s that were non-heater spec, Mr. T made other use of the space (like putting the fuse block in the middle of the firewall, the vacuum shift control box where the blower would be) that make retrofitting a stock unit quite a bit harder than going aftermarket.
