I still need to add a tab of some sort to mount the T fitting on the drivers side where it was run in '74. Rather than relocating the dropped line over to the passenger side as they were on the '76 axle. I'll post some pics soon though.

I've got the short side inner shaft in, hub together, and caliper installed. Now on to the long side.

Then bleeding the brakes and wrapping it up. :D

And taking a few more pictures.

Custom yes, well executed 🤷‍♂️

So what do you think??? Kinda like an older Playboy Magazine. :D

Pretty close to stock. I still need to secure the T fitting in the middle of the line but I ran out of light and time.

Axle is now fully assembled and ready for fluids.

Well… brakes are bled and work great.
Diff is full of gear lube. 4wd is working as it should… for the first time in many years :grinpimp:

Only thing left is to fabricate a bracket to secure the brake line T to the front axle.

Right on! 👍
I looked through my chat history… I bought the pair of 3.70 diffs from @Rigpig back in 2011 before he moved. I can’t remember exactly when I put the rear one in, but it’s been about 12 years… crazy. Way too long without really having 4wd.

Anyone seen a bracket like this one before?

Any guesses what it’s for?

What… no takers?

Should hold it securely. Even beating on it with a hammer to “adjust” it will barely make it move.

When the weather is a touch dryer I’ll hit the axle with a splash of paint and it’ll be “done”.

Pulled out the rear bench I installed back in ‘92.

Test fit of Tj bench. Just need to fab some brackets (after determining the pin diameter.

With the seat tumbled forward. :D

What are you going to do for a strap to hold the seat upright? I have to figure something out.

My TJ seat looks different? Are you sure it’s not a YJ seat?

When I bought it I was told it was a 2003 TJ seat. Based on what I found here (WARNING the attached link contains content that is offensive to all viewers): Can I install a 03-06 rear seat in 97-02 TJ? - https://wranglertjforum.com/threads/can-i-install-a-03-06-rear-seat-in-97-02-tj.48233/. Your seat would be 97-02 vs 03-06 for the one I have.

It shouldn’t need anything as the front hinges use two pins a side and are spring loaded. The springs seem plenty strong to keep the seat in the upright position.

Oh nice!!! Mine has no springs.

Started making brackets out of some off cuts from Metal Supermarket. They have a wall of shelves. The 12” and 8” lengths of rectangular steel were $5.
I’m planning on drilling 1/2” holes centred 1/2” an inch down. Once they work, I’ll clean them up and make them look pretty.

This is the first time I’ve cut open rectangular tubing and had it spring open about 1/4” wider at the top. I’ll need to reshape it somehow… probably compress it and heat it up or something.

The finished product will be similar to these but somewhat taller to ensure there’ll be enough clearance above the rear heater.

Found some better pictures of original ones. I’m thinking I’ll make mine with offset mounting holes so that I can rotate the bracket to reposition the seat further back.

This pair of springs should keep it in the upright position when not in use.
