The exhaust is complete and installed, started it for the first time last night, it smoked like a chinese cook but it sounded great.

Its fully tig welded, fixed the incomplete welds on the header, cleaned and painted with 2000F ceramic paint to prevent rust, fully wrapped with fiberglass header wrap, the entire system. Ill post what pictures i have so far. I have a video on the first start, ill try to post it here.. Full BCOR video coming soon.

Im still working the full exhaust video, but in between editing im finishing the voltage side of the stereo system. Im installing a Power Bastard 220a alternator, doing the ‘big 3’, maybe two new batteries, new belts, oil change, some other maintenance. I also had to replace my right front wheel bearing, they were loooong gone, so far in fact, i should have replaced the spindle and hub, but ill get those parts for the next time i go in there..

Alternator is in, all the “big 3” wiring is done, charging like a mother ****er now!!

Side note, before i started this alt job, i was having a belt squeal/bird chirping noise, but only on accel. I assumed it was belt noise and just got a new set of belts, after finishing the alt install the belts didnt fix the noise. I drove it last night and it was nearly undriveable, like really really bad. Im thinking bearing noise maybe, like spun rod/main bearing, or maybe dry cam journals, or oil pump drive bushing, but it doesnt knock, no metal in my oil, noise was only on throttle with load, idle or revving made no abnormal noises. Long story short, searching mud i found the thread below and it turns out dude had the same issues and greasing his front dc drive shaft fixed it. It also fixed mine. The center section the my tom woods dc drive shaft was bone dry, once it was greased, no more noise. If you or someone you know is struggling with belt noise, please contact your local grease gun..

Edit: needle attachment needed to grease this

Ya that's really hard one to get to with out they pulling the drive shaft. On mine you also have to pull the front skid plate.
I need to do this soon !! OK

That was common on jeeps. They call it the angry sparrows lol

Lol, angry sparrows.. it makes sense. @Broski do it sooner than later, it got real bad real fast, you can hear the metal crying for help.
Lol I'm on my second one from lack maintenance. The good thing is Tom Woods rebuilt it $100 outstanding customer service ! He also said that it should greased after every run 😜

FOR SALE!

I was thinking bout this truck the other day. Like probably time for the for sale post. And boom there it is! 😬

That looks fantastic. I have two 80's that just might need these :clap::clap:

Despite the “for sale” status, the projects dont stop.. Prototyped on my truck, the very first Artisan Garage 80 series tailgate storage panels, featuring two doors with heavy duty latches for better access to things while using the tailgate as a tailgate. I chose to carpet mine so my dog will still stand on it, picky pup….

It turned out awesome, you killed it with the carpet! Thank you for posting!

I may know a guy ;)

I don't currently have these in inventory yet as we were getting it all worked out on Ryan's truck, however, I'll get these in to production next week! They'll be identically priced to my 100 series version, and by all accounts are completely identical other than a little shape adjustment specific to the 80. If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out to me here, through the website, or GA@theartisangarage.com
