We had a 2.5 week road trip upcoming and so I finally made my own cupholders. Also keeps my iPhone from sliding around. Just a few scraps of plywood, some brad nails, glue, and a cereal box. The cardboard is glued to the bottom and goes under the gear shift seal to hold in place, Seems to hold any cup, can or water bottle so far and cost nothing!

One Free Mod I did was drill a hole in the tap of the gas tank lid and connected a cable from it to the car so i don't have to keep track of it at the pump FREE

I just do this instead. It's free and doesn't even require any mods.....

The OEM dual horns are so feeble and wimpy sounding. I wanted dual horns out of a late 90s Camry (good and loud, Japanese sounding), but none were available when I was there, so I got dual horns out of a 1999 Hyundai Sonata as a temporary solution. I've got dual horns kicking around from a 1992 Ford Tempo. They're super loud, but I can't bring myself to put a domestic sounding Ford horn on a classic Japanese rig.

Yeah, get something that people notice. When a 60 sounds like a Tercel

These posts are five years old, but I still wanted to put my two cents in. You guys must have had some worn out horns, because mine are original (I just double checked before posting this) and, while not the loudest I've ever heard, they sound pretty decent and are definitely loud enough. For the record, mine's an '87.

Do you have any other pictures of your set up? This seems pretty straight forward and looks great.

hey, howdy! my smog pump locked up in my 85 fj60. i went to one of the local junkyards, and in an 84 toyota pickup i found a bracket and tension pulley. The unit fit upright in the area perfectly and i only had to shim it in place using a couple of washers, on the bolts. hope this helps someone.

iv'e no idea what it held in, as that part had already been removed. i imagine it may have been the alternator, the bracket being on the right side (as you look at it from the front) of the engine. i've got some pics today, but it isn't very clear. hope this helps.

Pulley looks like the A/C belt tensioner pulley on a 22R. It would be on the pass side of the engine down low.

It was suggested I put the info in here since it is a under $50 mod..
Im not endorsing these lights..

Hood Bumper Fix, Cheap

My rubber hood bumpers on my FJ60 cracked and fell off. They were some ill-fitting generic ones that I had bought at a local auto parts store. So, I fabbed some from small pieces of rubber hose (0.6 inch inside diameter, Gates part #28467). I cut mine by trial and error (one is 1.22 inchs and the other is 1.08). They fit firmly over the Phillips head adjustable studs and have stopped the rattle.

I installed wiper arms from a 97 4runner and 17" wipers. The arms have better pressure and the newer hook type attachment for the wipers. Then used one from a 80 series for the rear.

Could you post pics of the rear wiper?did you had any problems installing the front wiper arms or straight bolt on?Thanks for sharing.

If you have a Costco membership then they have their blades on sale right now, buy one get one free. They are Goodyear blades and only $7.99/ea unfortunately they don't carry the 15" for the rear.

When I pulled the original wiper arms there was a black washer cover thing, pulled it and they bolted right on. Used them all day Saturday and they worked much better than stock.

I'll get a pic of the rear at end of weak when I'm home but it looks the same as the original except for the wiper attachment. Direct bolt on. As for wipers I bought some new Michelin hybrids that I'm a fan of so far.

Hi-lift

Would a Hi-lift jack considered a mod?anyways i got it from CL for $50 can't pass it up. 60" extreme.:D
