Surprised no one has mentioned this. I installed AC power inverter with my dad before the rig was mine, but it was a great way to get that kind of plug in the car. We took out the old tray that was there and slid it right in. The hardest part was getting the wires to the battery. It was under $50 and well worth it, for long trips when me and my brother watched the little car tv in the back. You can see it in this picture, the red box below the stereo. And no it has never slid out.

GLTHFJ60- it just slid right in...really, nothing there helping it.

Faulty Window Regulator.

If your window won't stay all the way up, buy two suction cups at the craft store about 2 inch diameter. remove the little hooks, then push the window up to the top like you normally do. Slide the bottom of the suction cup down into the bottom of the window and wedge it in there. Whats the second cup for? If you are good you can go to the drive through and after getting your Mc Rib you can use the two cups to push the window all the way up from inside even while driving.... Suprisingly strong hold I tried to force the window down, and could not... $2.00

Two Freebees

Go to a Toyota dealer and get your new gas tank and steering shaft. Both are recalls and what's better than free Toyota parts and labor.

Is the steering shaft a new recall? Don't "recall" that being one?

What is Sea Foam????

If you have the 3FE go get a can of BG 44k from your toyota house. It is kinda expensive but very worth it. (still expensive but under $50)

steering shaft

Hey guys I had my gas tank done about three months ago so I guess I was fresh on their books so toyota sent me a recall notice. It was for the "STEERING RELAY ROD for certain 1989 through 1995 4WD trucks." I guess this is a recent one and has not been out long.

Sorry about calling it the steering shaft, that was from memory, I looked up the recall notice as shown above.

Just call 1-800-331-4331 and give them your VIN, if it's been done they can tell you when. If not, they'll tell you which need to be done and how to get it done.

Very nice people. ;)

thanks man!

mod or fix?

dunno if this is a mod or fix, but i bought my rig with the tach cover smashed. i pulled the old tach cover, traced it with a sharpie on a clear cd jewel case, cut it out with an xacto blade, then drilled the necessary small holes. voila! new tach cover.

if you have wrecked rear panels you can replace them with fiber board.
use the old panels as templates n cut it all out paint it whatever colour you want then just drill screws into the old hole already there mine looks even better than the original panels. and cost around AU $10. you can add new floors and a tool box for about another $20. the tool box is bolted down(remove the handles cos they rattle like hell. i used the carpet already in the car as a template fo the wood and kept it in as an underlay

Mine looked like hell too, all the panels. My wife picked up some marine grade vinyl at the fabric store, I took the door panels and rear panels off and she used contact cement (almost 1 gallon!) and put it right over top the old panels.
Worked great looks like it was proffesionally done, probably works out to $20 or $30 per pannel.
