I just installed the BT45 in my '05 last weekend. Install went pretty smoothly. Running wires through there with average sized man hands is kinda tough. Would be much easier w/ 6y/o hands. I have the same problem with the volume, have to turn it up fairly high on the stereo, but sound is great. Can't remember where I set the dip switches, but mine plays on CD #4. I have satellite and rear DVD in mine. For the head unit, I just pulled the glove box and put it behind the right side of the plastic housing behind the glove box. Didn't even need to secure it (yet).

Not sure if anyone else is running the microphone, but I ended up putting it right under my speedo in the far lower right corner of the instrument panel. Black on black, so it's barely noticeable, even if you're looking for it.

I put my mic in the upper corner of the windshield. Sounds good from what I’m told on the other end of the line and out of sight unless you’re looking up there.

I stashed the box under the shifter console panel. No rattles or anything.

I have had the BT45-TOY for 3 years in my 02 LX. The adapter, plus re-foaming my factory sub, has made the HAL 9000 more than bearable.

No issues except the volume of the "Connected" message is relatively loud, so I have to remember to bring down the volume a bit before I shut off the car.

Microphone is installed up near the rear view mirror.

I have VAIS SL3b-t. It's good. It can be a bit glitchy at times but overall works well. Sound quality is good. I've never put a CD in the player to compare. CD's are pretty much dead technology to me. I've never heard an FM transmitter that I thought sounded good. I'll be doing the post 2003 conversion when I get some spare time, asap as the only issue I have with these rigs is the antiquated nav/climate integration.

If you dislike reaching up and hitting 'I agree' or 'OK' or whatever the nag warning is on the nav display every time, then I recommend the Vais unit. It can disable it. I have it in two Lexus of the same vintage and would drop the cash again just for that feature and consider bluetooth a bonus.

I've never experienced any glitches in either my LS430 or 07 LX.

I will be installing the VAIS BT and Sat modules in my truck. Just need to schedule with my audio guy. My wife has the Vais Sat module in her 200 and it operates like factory sat radio.

Another Btoy45 user. I had my stereo shop put it in while they were doing tint. The only feature that doesn't work (I think they left a switch unswitched during install) is my call answer/end button on the steering wheel. Otherwise everything is no different than what it would be from the factory. Looks like stock (big thing for me) and has all the features I'd need. Sometimes I do have issues with calls wanting to play through the car if I'm outside of it, but I usually use Voyage ear piece anyway and it takes priority over the car's system when I select it. Not a fault of the Btoy at all, just how the phones work.

to answer calls with the steering wheel just use the up or down arrow (next or prev track) and it should answer

Hello,

I have had no issues what-so-ever with the BT45-TOY. You can keep the factory unit that way.

I'm considering putting a Bluetooth connection in my 2005 Land Cruiser. I have had it since 2010. It has navigation. I tried it a few years ago and it did not work. Also is there a system that will work with the CD, FM AM etc. and not create a need to abandon any of those? I have done a little research and want the best sound possible and consistent volume settings. Also, does anyone have a satellite radio hooked into the OEM head? It looks like it toggles between AM and SAT any advice is greatly appreciated.

LOL! Oh, man, the stupid CONNECTED! announcement... yes you have to remember to turn the volume down when turning the truck off. :-)
