Saturday November 18th is Beer and Birger day also known as D-Day. Everyone is invited to my house for Beers and Burgers....the only thing I ask it for help to get my cruiser back in action. This is basically gonna be a day of Raw wrenching....Here is what is on the list to accomplish on the 18th. JP and I will have my axle ready to go by that day. So we will weld the spring perches and bolt the axle up. Also I should have new hard lines for the brakes. We will weid up an attachment for the new brake booster and master cylinder for the fire wall. We will be welding in the new floor plate, along with new seat brackets for the bucket seats. Puttin the gas tank back in. Puttin the tranny and rebuilt t case back in. Installing the new tranny hump...and once that is done it will be miles ahead of where it is at the moment. All that will be left to do is the rear disk brake conversion..which should be fairly easy, I think the most time consuming part of that will be gettin the rotors machined to fit over the rear hubs. I think what I have planned is very doable in a day. So come on out and drink some beer and eat some grub and let's do some wrenchin.

Thanks, Chuck

hate to be a party pooper but like marshall said that is the day of the Gulches trip, might be best to reschedule it if you want more people to show up.....:grinpimp:

Well I'm not tryin to make anything official here....just lettin you guys know that I'm gonna be wrenchin on saturday. I'm so close to being done....I wanna have everything put back together so I can work out all the kinks for the MLK weekend...One of those kinks is to figure out how the hell I'm gonna stay warm on the trip..lol. So come on out if ya feel like wrenchin!!

Yeah I'm still wrenchin...I'll have a better idea of start time by wed or thurs....it'll be in the morning(early)..and anyone can stop by when they can.

Chuck I'm out. I was just reminded yesterday that I have to go to Greensboro to see my brothers daughter be babtised. (Spelling???)))

We are leaving Sat morning. Sorry.

Well JP and I got the axle put back together tonight......only thing that occured was we broke a hub...seems that it's a little bit of a tight fit....I'll be lookin for new hubs....they just seem a little too tight for the fit....but I can still put the axle up under the cruiser and get it hooked back up.

Chuck just post up a definite time and date soon as you know. I'll come around and hang out and help you however I can do some welding and stuff. Probably steal JP's welder on my way out and work on my cage and a hi-lift mount.

It's "baptized"... And I'm from High Point, which is only about 10 minutes away from Greensboro... You should look up a BB-Q place called Carter Brothers..... Best stinkin pork you'll ever have.

What time are we wrenching Chuck, and dont say in the morning or all day lets get a time so I can hold you to it. Plus I want to bleed the brakes on the piggy again and see if they get better so I have to plan my wrenching into the day.

I plan on startin 9 am...plenty of time to drink some beer!!! Anyone else gonna be able to make it out to the house besides Richard. If you are plannin on comin and need directions to the house let me know.

Well today was a good day. we got Chucks cruiser off of the jack stands by putting the front axle back on bolted it all up, put the tires back on and set her back on 4 wheels. Then we proceeded to put the tranny and tcase back on and if Chuck hadnt been missing an important washer we wouldnt have completely finished those up. We definitely made some big progress today toward the 40 running down the road once again.

P.S. Chuck wheres my burger. It was more like beer day.

Yes..thanks a bunch to you Richard, we made great progress today on the 40....It is good to see her finally back on 4 wheels...and to have the rest of the guts back in her..actually new guts. It took some finaglain and some cuss words to get the 4 speed tranny and tcase in there but we got it. Yeah the washer I was missin is the one that goes on the very back to hold in the space with the stake nut. It went a lot smoother than I was expecting...I figured we were gonna have a lot more trouble with the axle...but it was fairly easy. Could not have done it without ya Richard..thank again...we were definately on the liquid diet today.
