No idea of the prices in the US. Just took a google search und found this. But I realized it is AUD so it still will be like 1600€…9″ Toyota LandCruiser 200 (2008-2015) Series Integrated Hi-Res Audio Receiver with Wireless Apple CarPlay / Android Auto - https://progressivecarsound.com.au/products/coming-soon-9-landcruiser-200-2008-2015-series-integrated-hi-res-audio-receiver-with-wireless-apple-carplay-android-auto

or did you installed the normal version of that radio with the single DIN slot and the pancake display?
Nice looking HU that one, but I’ve got the single DIN with the floating screen (Halo). Available just under $1,000 USD, which is comparable to the android unit that EC Offroad supply, but in my opinion, far better quality.

Realised I haven’t updated the thread in best part of 6 months.

Quite a few changes to the 200.

Upgraded the suspension to Kings 2.5 with Tough Dog UCA, 600lbs front springs (probably need to look at 700lb with the heavy diesel lump) and blue Kings comfort springs in the back.

Went for a 285/70R17 Kumho AT52 tyre, which I’m liking for predominantly road use, plus a bit of sand and rock/rough tracks.

Only a light rub on the inner arch plastics in reverse only. Just need to get the hot air gun in there to massage the plastics to eradicate it, when I can be arsed.

I’ve also had the manual H150F gearbox swapped over to a brand new Aussie spec H152 box. A bit more work than I’d hoped, having to change input shafts, plus also some wear in the transfer case (after 300k) meant I needed to do a light rebuild on that to get it to seal.

One of the bigger changes has been a full inside/outside respray. Custom colour that we mixed with the boys in the paint shop to get something subtle, yet colourful enough. I’ve had grey or silver cars for too many years, I wanted some colour on this one.

I’ve done 20,000km in the car now and still loving the bare bones nature, with some creature comforts, like the front Recaro seats and stereo upgrade.

Do you have dust caps on the front and rear hubs? It certainly looks like the dust cap we have stateside on the front, but what is covering the drive axle on the rear?

Front is a dust cap but in the rear that's the axle itself.

Looks great habibi

Regarding the steering wheel controls. I think it's a straight clock spring swap. to verify you have the correct pins. Check the car side plug of the clock springs. if it has the extra pins on the harness then you can easily swap the clock spring and get more control on the wheel.

Regarding the suspension, I don't like the valving of Kings on the 200 series. BP51s and Fox 2.5s are way way better in terms of ride quality and handling. try them out if you can.

Love the project! a manual 200 is rare cruiser.

I ended up with the Kings, mostly out of convenience. They will be revalved after the summer as they really don’t suit my style of driving at the moment.

I wouldn’t go with BP51s here purely because I won’t deal with the local dealer. The fox were a similar price but the Kings seem better supported.

It’s definitely a bit rare. After having an auto 80 as my supposed daily, which I didn’t fall in love with, I realised the only way I’d love something like I do with my 78 was to get a manual and diesel.

For the stereo, we did a clock spring swap but no wiring on the rack side of the loom, so ended up with a Bluetooth module inside for the control which works really well. I was sceptical, but no missed presses, no delay, always positive.

Question. Is your 200 like mine without a cruise control?
Any plans to retrofit it it? On my research it would need to mount the comfort module (passenger side under the the glove box) that is normally in fancy specs control also things like the seat heating.
Problem is that over here in Europe it is rly hard to find those parts used and if yes they cost a fortune for a „maybe“ thing.

So no cruise control on this one.

I installed it on my 70, but even after covering 30,000km driving from Dubai back to the UK and around Europe, I really don’t use it.

I’ll not bother on this.

Awesome Thread and Rig

Great to see you out here, we talk on insta occasionally.
How is your feedback on TD UCA?

Hey, for the TD UCA, I have no comparison with TC, Dobinson etc to give a good enough answer and feedback.

From a general UCA perspective, they’ve been on there for 6 months, or so, and covered about 25,000km without issue.

Main reason for purchase was they were available and in stock with ASGT at the same time I bought rear springs.
