A couple of buddies and I are planning to go to the 250 this year. The 250 is back in San Felipe after one year on the other coast. I am SOOOO happy about this. It is just a much more chill atmosphere compared to the Ensenada side.
Anyway my buddies are rolling with me in my rig and I might have my buddy in his Colorado go too, some of you met him on the Turkey Run. But he is not a definite so I am looking for at least one other rig to join me for sure.
The plan is to drive down Friday afternoon through Mexicali and camp just North of this location but South of the beach camp where you pay to camp around a bunch of noisy people. Coordinates are Lat: 31°7'30.24"N Long: 114°53'10.18"W
Currently the course map is not up yet on the Score site but be careful visiting that site because I got a virus last week from it. So if they run a course South of Felipe we may have to find a new location to camp. But this camp location has worked out well for a number of years.
Plan is to head back Sunday either through San Felipe or via dry lake bed past Guadalupe Canyon and on to Tecate. Either way the border wait will suck.
So is anybody down for 700 HP Trophy Trucks, Cervezas, beach front camping, & being able to walk out into the Sea of Cortez for over a mile at low tide?
I guess that is it for now till' the race gets closer.

Just a little Inspiration :D

That pic is from Google Earth, but I have an even better one from my tent door at sun rise! It's about the only place on the West Coast where you can watch the sun rise over water!
In fact that would be a cool trip to watch the sun rise in Felipe and then drive across to watch the sunset on the Pacific side!
Oh well another thread another time.

That is a great picture. We have a family San Felipe weekend trip planned for April...I would love to make this one...but don't see it happening.

Mark, depending how fast i can get a few things done on my hundo, i will be in for sure!

I got a bunch of stuff to do and very little time, so i will be a last minute decision! :(

Mounting the roof tent to one of these isnt an easy task, and i refuse to sleep on the ground like a peasant! :flipoff2:

Mark, I believe Ive camped there before!!!!! when i was a kid! That exact spot!

I don't know if the Alligator billboard was around when you were a kid but a billboard in the shape of an Alligator advertising I believe Dos XX is the spot to turn left off of the Hwy and head down to the beach. I will have to get a pic of the cruiser being eaten by the Alligator this year. :D

Is this the elgolfo area?

Not sure? It is about 15 min north of San Felipe. If you click the Link "This Location" in the first post you will go to a page with google earth where you can navigate around and see for yourself.

What is a "hundo"?

Hundy is the slang name of the the "Hundred" series. I guess "hundo" is the male version. :D
Kevin has a 100 series?

HA. Yeah, I have been. I missed a WHOLE week.:lol:

That is a really nice find. I most definitely will have a "hundo" one of these day. They are great trucks. The :princess: wants the pink panty version though . . .

So what does this all have to do with the Baja 250???? :flipoff2:
Baja 250?

I thought this was the thread about Kevin's new LC?

BTW: I mentioned to Michell that you and Maria were going to San Felipe. Her and I went down there years ago in my 40 and had a great time. She didn't seem too interested though . . . That is her "Birthday weekend".
