The first part will test your cooling system for sure, it's a constant climb up a pretty rocky road, seemed like a good hour or two of 4lo and about 1200rpm. Probably just felt that long but was bumpy and pretty steep. I may make another scouting run and at least go to jaws 2.

Well I heard it would get to busy during the weekend but if that's what it takes to get more involved I would say yes. This would all be weather dependent of course. You gonna make it to the meeting? And it's also dependent ion how my rig is doing. I think it is all good but the next few trails will test it a little but not like Blanca will.

Won't be at the meeting tomorrow. I'm in a volleyball league on Tuesdays, and never able to make it.

I'm not sure about that late in August. I'm still up for the 10th or what not. If you decide not to run that weekend, would you want to run a different trail other than Blanca?

If the date changed I would probably head to Bv on the 9 and 10th and do grizzly as I can't go with the club on the 15 th weekend because of a wedding. Probably do tin cup pass as well. I don't want to loose you on Blanca. I want some bigger rigs with to pull me up when I flounder with 33's. I am pretty sure I can do the trail but there will be a couple spots where I wish I had 35's and a solid front axel. We can talk about it this weekend if we don't get poured on. I would rather do the 9 the and 10th. Are you concerned about the weather in late august?

Just can't see far enough into the future to see what will be happening with work in August. Should be good but no idea.

Also game for grizzly and tin cup. There's one more in the area that I wanted to hit but can't think of it off the top of my head. I'm locked in for a trail ride that weekend regardless.

BV weekend is Aug. 15-17

Yeah! Please start a thread! I want to start getting amped up for this. Currently have the wife talked into going, just need to go find a nice -80 mummy bag for her (she's always cold - wore a sweater most of the time on our Hawaii trip ).

Made a run up there today, thought we were going to get rained on but we dodged the bullet on that one.

Left the trailhead about 9:30, jaws 1 by around 10:30, lots of hikers going up and coming down. Lake Como by 12:30, Blue Lake by 1:30. This included a delay or two for other folks and picture taking. Had to stack a couple rocks on Jaws 2, but was pretty uneventful other than that. The visibility coming down makes for some interesting lines on the obstacles on the return trip. Coming down we left Blue Lake by around 2, and was airing up tires by 4:40. I only had to back up once a good distance to let a stock-ish Samuri by on the bottom switchbacks, wish I had time to follow them up, it would have been a show.

What size tires are you running? If you had to stack rocks with a short wheelbase and larger than 33" tires, I might be screwed with my cherokee. Lol. I drug a lot of metal on Holy Cross.

Running a slightly stretched WB (approx 96") and 37's had the tires aired down to 8psi. With a slightly longer or shorter WB it might have been easier, was just right to hit a bump at the top and bottom at the same time. Didn't drag across near as many rocks in the road as I thought I would. I am not familiar enough to say yay or nay, but with careful line choice and under armor I would think you could make it. A lower rig would want functional sliders.

There are quite a few vids on YouTube of the obstacles you could check out to help determine for yourself.

I would happily run up again when someone wants to go.

I didn't think my sliders would hold up very well when I put them on, as the are bolted to the body for lack of a frame, but they have been proven very effective. I do have a transfer case skid that a French creek helped contour in closer in for a little more ground clearance as well. High pinion front, and the rear CV drive line almost points straight up, I think she'll be OK. I was trying to get to Blanca in August, can't seem to make all the prospective participants dates line up. I would like to go later in the month.

There's no doubt that when the first major body damage happens, the fenders will get sawzall'd out, 4.88's will go in, and she will be shod with 35's. trying to keep it reasonably nice so I can give Claire the vehicle I brought her home from the hospital in - when she's driving in 5 years. She's already told me she wants it for her first vehicle. Lol. So proud.
