What’s the difference?

Front axle housing
FJ40: 43110-60122 (08/1980 - 04/1986)
BJ42: 43110-60094 (08/1980 - 10/1984)

Rear axle housing
FJ40: 42110-60025 SEMI FLOATING AXLE (08/1980 - 10/1982)
BJ42: 42110-60052 SEMI FLOATING AXLE (08/1980 - 10/1982)

What could be the difference? Different gear ratio, yes, but how could it affect to axle pipe itself? Springs are the same, diff carrier and drive shafts are the same.

I think the difference was just brake line routing I think the BJ has brake lines run down one side of the frame and FJ runs them down the other side. I know there was somthing different as I did a front end swap on my 40 from a diesel. Front to a gas front axle assembly. And had to redo some brake lines. But that was like 20 years ago my brain might be a little foggy.
