Quick update.
Ive found another pig. In the process of negotiation at the moment with the owner.
I think its a 77, has the little square tail lamps.
Its only a few blocks away from home. Pretty rust free. Ambulance doors :), and someone has even welded a troopy roof on it. Has a SBC, power steer and good interior parts which is wat i need the most.
With any luck, will have it home by the weekend.

Me too! Often thought of putting some kind of popup tent, in place of the roof. Would have to practice on the 69, before cutting up my good top.

I seen it on Gumtree late Thursday night, called the PO Friday morning to arrange a viewing for that afternoon.
Its now Saturday night and I own it.

From what I know.
I paid $500 for it.
Its a 74 model, original motor & gearbox.
Has some rust in the roof, but its been bogged b4 so the extent is unknown.
It has a long range tank.
The front springs have the Mitsubushi diamonds printed on them.
Its had air conditioning, some parts still remain.
The motor hasn't run for least a year.
Its got all the missing parts I need for mine.
The doors close without having the slam them. I can't believe it. :grinpimp:
It kinda looks like a grandpa's touring car.
Its got a million VDO gauges under the dash.
Its fitted with a PBR vacuum trailer brake system.

I plan to tell the missus about it:confused:
Then its going to live at a mates block to serve as a hunting truck after I swap all the needed parts from it.

Looks great mate. Let me know if you want to sell the front and side indicators.

Saw this one on gumtree a little while ago, trying to see if I can complete the deal.

So far ive removed the headlight surrounds and the metal plate on the inside of the tailgate.
Has rust in the floor under the drivers seat frame.
Looks like i might be able to salvage the floor mat.

Things are slow around here. I haven't touched the pig since September.
The wife knows about the 2nd pig and im still alive.

So i took her drag racing, 16.5 ET @ 83mph, Short shifting (so i wouldn't fling off the fan belt) and with a passenger.

Anyways, i did some damage. Lost clutch hydraulics.
Cut a long story short, the thrust bearing extension carrier worked loose and spun. Easy fix, just aligned it all.

Anyway, the Toyota cast iron bell housing has a crack in it. This is around a bolt that fixes the gearbox mount to the bell housing.
Is this common ?
