Basically gets you a wider stance without wheel spacers...and helps avoid contact with swaybars when running larger tires...and helps keep the stance wider post-lift compared to LC front-end suspension upgrades. Control arms extend outward farther.

Also looks nice visually for those who feel the front tires appear sunken in within the wheel wells.

Thanks!!

Man that is just SO nicely tucked for a 40 gallon.

I’m officially swayed. :)
-If I were to do it again...it would be an armored 40 instead of my armored 24. Love my 24...but I can’t seem to hit it no matter how much I bash rocks with everything else...so why not just do the 40?

Awesome work, Kanal!!!

Wow that's quite a bit more tucked than I expected. I really thought it would hang down more than that so I'm stoked. That is so awesome... Thanks a ton for the pictures! I'm super excited to get mine installed hopefully later this month. Definitely going to do the same and have them put some armor on it prior to paint and install.

It’s looks tucked because of my bumper design. Your side profiles may be different. But it sits above axle. Skid will do its job. It does have drain. Range is now 600+ miles. I did delete OE breather and used the supplied revised version. I mounted pump near dual filler tube at an angle. Everything is tucked and zip tied. I didn’t loose much elevation. But truck feels heavy with all weight in back. Looking forward to making fewer stops to gas stations.

Right I wasn't thinking about your custom rear bumper. I've got a stock rear for now but will need a bumper to carry the spare eventually so I guess I'll that the side profile into account when I buy one.
Thanks

That looks pretty much identical to mine. While I have drug it across a few ledges in Moab, it has held up well and having 60 total gallons on board is fantastic! That's a Slee rear bumper on my 2016 BTW.

Yeah that still doesn't look too bad. Did u have yours armored up before installation?

No, this is the standard LRA 40 gallon tank installed by Slee. My rig is quite heavy, I really can't imagine adding more weight in armor. :) I'm sure I am at 8500#s loaded and ready to hit the trail.

Who is Kanal? Lol

Heh... Sorry.
I can just barely see the letters I type...
Vision problem getting much worse, unfortunately.

Haha. No worries.

My rear springs (OME 2723 w/340 #/") only settled 1/2" with a full tank of gas and 40-gallon LRA aux tank. I like their response going over speed bumps. It is less stiff now.

For me the 2724s seems the be just right with a RTT, all the armor, all the fuel, and trail provisions. we are going out for the weekend later today and on my test drive everything seemed "just right" with the 2724s.

Nice work. Are the long range tanks CARB approved?

@Atwalz bumper effectively hangs lower at the rear-most bumper edge than our Slee (which isn’t exactly super tucked either) but I still think the 40 is tucked enough if armored. I like it. I don’t usually need 60 gallons...but when you need it, you need it. Next Time I do Baja, it probably won’t be point-to-point...so extra fuel for exploring options is nice. Even with my 24, I’d tote a couple jerry cans in that setting...so ya, I like your 40’s.

Added 2019 model X long range to stable. It’s fast.
