Engine Belt Routining

I managed to put on all my accessories this weekend and now need to put the belts back on.....Anyone have a diagram of how the belts are routed?

Thanks!

I can take a picture for ya. On your wheel bearings. Did you replace the race too?

I like the ladder on the bumper. That's a neat solution. Do you find it wobbles when you're up on top of it? Is that an available option with that bumper or did you make it?

Nice KLR, too. Love the old Kawasaki Land Rover!

by the end of the week my back was better. Figures, Just a sign to not go to GATOR.

as for the belts, starting with the closest grove on the crank to the block,
crank to ac
crank to water pump to smog pump
crank to power steering to alternator

Update - Problem

Need some help here. I've installed new front/rear bearings/seals, New brakes front/reaf, New drive shaft unjoints and balanced the DS, rebuilt T-case, H55 Tranny, New clutch/TO bearing, ARB lockers front and rear, new 4.56 gears front and rear.

Before the upgrades it drove smooth and solid, now when I hit 65 mph I get a solid rumble/vibrations. I've rotated tires/wheels and taken the DS off and rotated it (Phasing).

Now I have no idea what to do....Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanks!

Wow, that's a whole heap of different improvements that could be causing the vibes.
Good luck narrowing the problem down. My first thought would be driveshaft but you seemed to have covered that. Any way someone could let you borrow a spare just to make sure? Seems like an easy way do dismiss that part of the equation.

Just a thought,
Our Volvo started doing that a while back. The steering wheel felt like machine gun Charlie after 60 mph. Turns out that one of the little weights they use to balance the wheels had come off one wheel. Re-balanced and it smoothed out.

Edit: I also hit a nasty pot hole once and started getting a similar issue. Turns out that the impact had snapped one of the steel belts in the tire and was causing a bulge to develop causing a slight "thump, thump" noise and vibration. Where I live the roads are pretty nasty.

I might add that I put new TRE's on the front and a front end alignment was done.

Knuckle bearing preload issue? Double check the toe-in? I've been told that a loose knuckle build or excessive play will cause wobble. So maybe shim packs weren't gauged properly???? Loose hub nut?

Thanks!

We rebuilt the knuckle bearings aswell. Replaced the shims the same way they came out and did the "scale" test and everything checked out. I redid the front hub bearings and did notice the passenger side bearing seemed a bit light after doing the scale test on the hub. I'll check that one, but I don't get any vibration in the steering wheel.......

Oh....maybe I misunderstood....The vibrations don't translate to the steering wheel? You sure the driveshaft is phased properly? I hope its not a diff issue

Trapper50cal-

Thanks again for your suggestions and I'll check the front axle just in case.

I really hope it's not the diffs. The ARB's and Gears were set-up by a reputable company so I can't imagine that they're the problem, but I'd be really curious if anyone else has ever had a rumble/vibration problem from new diff gears and ARB Lockers.

A better description of the rumble/vibrations maybe in order.

As you approach 60 mph your hear and get a general rumble/vibration in the entire truck. At first I thought since it was a windy day it was turbulence off my roof rack, but as I changed directions on the highway it stayed the same.

The rumble/vibration is felt throughout the entire truck. Nothing isolated to the steering wheel. You feel it in the seat of your pants.
At 65 mph, you can push in on the clutch and the rumble/vibration is still there. If you slow down or speed up it seems to disappear.

well, sorry I'm not more knowledgable....tires all balanced? maybe it has nothing to do with the new work persay....maybe a balancing weight got knocked off one of the tires. Can it be localized to originating from front or back? or is it just all over?

make sure the shaft is in phase

make sure the shaft is in phase

Kling-on-

Any suggestions on how to make sure it's phased?

Since everything in the front and rear diff came out and was replaced with new and the DS had new ujoints and was balanced my original alignment marks are no longer any good.

Thanks!

if you remember mine had a vibration in it when we were in moab. well after driving it alot more it never went away. I put in this Center Bolt Spacer and i have little to no vibration at all.

Matt-

Thanks for the suggestion. How does this bolt help? Since it didn't vibrate prior to the upgrades would it now show-up due to all the new parts?

BTW-I'm really sorry to hear about what happened to your home. I hope everything works out.
