Apparrently I am looking for a unicorn! A tall skinny 35 inch tire.

I have tried to search as best I could. I don't want 37's my truck currently has 315/75/R16 mounted up. I don't like the fact that they are so wide. I don't mind to go up in tire height, but don't want to do more suspension than the 2.5 OME already installed. I found a Interco swamped that may work, but I will do a fair amount of paved roads. I had a jeep with Thornbirds when I was young and enjoyed the rumble they made. 20 years later , wife and kids won't! I thought about Michelin XML military tires as they are cheap, but I don't want to trim fenders, I am also not sure I want extra weight on each corner. The PO installed 4.88's and longfields. I will anxiously await the thrashing to ensue

I'll probably stick with what I have though. Can't complain, they have been awesome (toyo MTs).

This will fit the bill: I have Toyo A/T 315/75/16 that measure just over 34" and my spare tire is a BFG Mud Terrain 255/85/16 that measures just over 33".

Possibly a bit big..... 255/100r16 Michelin XZL. Just over 36" tall but only 10" wide.

None of the big tire manufacturers make a 35" tire less than 12.5 width. I am too looking at getting a narrower 35" tire.

Pretty much the Michelin or some variant from Interco are about it. A 315 75/16, or any 315 is technically a 12.5 inch wide tire. (Metric sizing is kind of like a 2x4, it's really a 1.5x3.5)

Oh yeah, i forgot. Another way is a 295 75/16. Nitto and a few others make them. Pretty much 11 inches wide by almost 34 inches tall

I really like my 255/85R16 KM2s. Like you, the extra width seems superfluous to my needs and just adds unneeded wear and tear on the road, which is where most of our trucks spend most of our time.

I feel the same way about an extra 1" of clearance that goes with 35" tires over 33s. There's very few obstacles where the extra inch will make more difference than choosing a better line, everything else being equal.

I too wanted a tall and skinny 35", but I wasn't going to ever buy a bias ply tire for as much driving as I do. I had the factory 15x7" wheels that came on my 1992 so I was also looking into different tire sizes. I looked at all sorts of tire sizes and pretty much determined I wanted a 17" wheel as that's where the most choices seemed to be available. I almost went with the 34x10.5r17 BFG KO2, but couldn't wait until the were released so I ended up going with a 35x12.5r17. Unlike my brother's mounted on the stock 16x8" wheel, I mounted mine on a 17x17.5" wheel. It may not sound like much, but I think wheel width really dictates overall width. Once mounted they came in at 34.375"X11".

My 35 is the one on the right, and the tire on the left spent its life mounted on a 10" wide wheel.

I think a 255/85r16 toyo mt is as close as you can get to a skinny ~35" without going bias ply and keeping it below 36". The Toyo mt seems to be the largest of the 255/85/16's

^^ this. I bought my trd rims used with interco 33" tires that were really nice but I just couldn't do the 33's because my truck has 4.88's. Went with 315 75/16 dura tracs and love em. Not so skinny though.

I like these Michelin XZL copies.
I would ponder trying these out if I knew I won't have to cut fender and do a body lift. They are realistically only one inch larger than the 315's I have now. I have prior expirience with Chinese tires on a F550 that used to eat 2 grand worth of tires every ten months. I got a way more agressive tread and they lasted just shy of two years. I also ran Chinese tires on my 33000 pound Sterling and never had issues. Does anyone see a reason why these tires would not physically work? Most of the driving that I plan to do will be mostly gravel back roads with e occasional romp in the woods on a class 4 road.
BTW. How do I explain my new Mud addiction to my wife? She keeps asking what the hell I am looking at.
