I have the same wheels and wanted to do the same thing. Did this work out for you?
Falken is making this size now as well with their AT4W. It’s C rated, which I think is a much better match than the E rated tires. I have the Kenda 35x10.50x17 on FJ Trail wheels and wish I had gone with the 11.50 instead.

275/85/17 Milestar Patagonia XT fit in the spare location with no hitch. Have worked great in every terrain I've tried, and are silent on the highway.

Before mounting they measured 34x9. After mounting they were taller than my 35x12.5/17 Neoterra MTs that measured out at 34.6"

I was a little disappointed because I wanted to fit in the garage BETTER not the same or worse. I know the tread width measures 9" but overall they probably measure a little wider or closer to 10~10.5.

I definitely like them a lot more than my 35x12.5s

Cooper Discoverer S/T Maxx All-Season LT255/85R16

That's about as skinny a 33 that I can find

I got the setup from someone else and he had it on a steel trailer wheel, I’m really slow at finding a 16x7 Toyota wheel to replace that. Really common wheel.
7 years later.... I have some Taco steelies.....
