another projector / depo headlight mod thread

just got my new set of DEPOS modded for projectors .
this will be my third set in 2 years the other 2 failed and were never repaired . i hope this set works and life is good again .

i will keep this thread updated when they are installed and show photos .

The projectors failed , the high beams would stick , the guy that did them could never get them right . I finally gave up and now tried another shop

Ok, risking self embarrassment here but what are depo headlights? Are they just another aftermarket light supplier or is there something special about them?

Kind of - yes, and yes to your questions. They are aftermarket, chinese lights but pretty well made. Many guys here buy them and have them converted to projector style. There are some older threads about them and where to get them modded.

Where are they getting their projectors from? If they are from TRS and not the closeout or generic ones i don't see reason for failure?

I had first generation fxr from TRS for 5 years and never a hiccup with hi/lo.

I've done numerous retrofits with their projectors and never had that problem even with their closeout "b stock" fxr or mini d2s/h1. If they used a MINI style projector from TRS the warranty is a couple years now and this swap is cake compared to fxr or others that require custom fitting.

i finally had a chance to get my lights in this weekend . the quality of the work is light years better than my old ones. out of the box they were almost perfectly aligned .
i havent tried any real driving with them yet, but i will this week .

these are the guys that did the mod, they said they would consider a group buy discount

if i remember correctly
250 for the depos
169 for retrofit source hid kit - not the projectors
projector mod - around $500
shipping wasn't included which from brooklyn was about $50 each way insured
