Been checking out this ite for a few months now and decided its time to tell y'all about my project. It's a '75 that had typical rust for pigs-front fenders, rockers, lower rear quarters. Finished up most of the body work last week and have been working on interior since then. I'm planning on keeping it stock except for axle upgrades and low spring over... primerpig.webppigrocker.webppigrrpnl.webp

nice looking pig!..........my rear wheel openings look like crap!........did you replace the rust with steel or fiberglass patching?

I pretty much replaced all the rusted out areas with new steel...
on wheel wells, there were holes rusted through in the flared part, but there was enough metal left to put a patch behind the holes and weld them up with a mig. I had to cut away parts of the inner fender and fit some little 1" x 2-3" curved peices behind the holes. I then put a thin layer of body filler on top to smooth things back out.

noobier than me

hey battle,
nice pig man! figured this rain has forced you into the shop. what will it take to teach me how to do that to my someday pig project. can't wait to see it in the flesh. Might be in tunicopia tomorrow to see that 80. I'll call you later and see if we can meet.
ps
Finally decided to clean up booger my 62 and sell him. its been over a year to decide.

Sweet looks great, a lot like my old pig with those rockers :)
I modeled my rockers after the rig in toyota trails march/april issue-was that your truck?
do you have pics of what it looked like when you picked it up in Arkansas?
Unfortunately no. It looked pretty bad. If it hadn't had a/c and a four speed, it probably would have been left in Arkansas.

back on the road!!

I've come a long way with the ol' pig since last post.....interior, body work, paint. Been driving it for a couple of weeks now. Future plans: p/s, 2f, springover. (I must admit I'm second-guessing the springover-I sure am enjoying it as a stock grocery-getter!!)
