When you get around to the port and polish, could you comment on how clean (flash) and smooth the insides of the intake chamber and intake/exhaust manifolds are stock? How well do the ports match up stock? I am interested in whether it would be worthwhile to give the manifolds some attention during a de-smog.

Thanks,
Curt.

Well finished most of the hard stuff the head is cleaned up and starting on the intake. The intake side of the head has some room for improvment near the injector port. It is a little tight. The walls are not smoothed and cleaning them will help. The exhaust side has a lot of room to open them up. Still working on those. The intake itself really just needs a good polish. It matches up pretty good. If you are doing it on the engine, I have foam plugs from my work that keep the trash from falling into the head. Then I just vacuum it up before I pull the plugs.

I had wondered about doing something like this. Do you use any kind of temp. sealant around the foam plugs, or they just fit snug enough that there are no worries?

Nice blue. Now where have I seen that color before?

i got some sweet looking red from work that will likely make its way to some peices on my rig.

but the blue there is also very nice looking.

Oh yea!

You guys suck.

mark needs a bumper, and an interior dome light cover to make that truck practically perfect.

And here is that color addition you and your wife discussed and this is gonna cost you extra for the first blood.

wuss.......

Randy, Thanks for the hospitality today, your wife was a good sport... It was a long day..but worth the drive to see how the "Magic" happens.

Today the engine was pulled, and the engine bay was cleaned up. I just hope Randy remembers which Blue engine to put back in the truck. I offered Randy $100 and a case of beer for that Vortec he had sitting in the back of his garage...Told him it might look nice in my FJ62. :D

The wife say's,"Anytime and THANK YOU for the Nike:bounce: .

If you would have thrown in a bottle of Tequilla gold label I may have been able to talk ML into it. But hey as soon as the cruiser gets up and running you will alway's have this thread to see what it might have been. Glad you were able to come up and the transfer looked really good so I went ahead and buttoned it up. Here is where it is at as I walked out tonight...Well since I snapped a last pic. There is still a lot of clean up, but I will be putting it in tomorrow after work. Anyone need a good block? If not I will set it out for my Fred Sanford to pick up.
