98 SNAKE EATER, How did you use all 4 factory retaining clips up front without having the speaker tilted? Do you have any pics of the fronts mounted without the covers on?
Thanks

snake eater,
did you notice better sound quality after taking the factory amp out or getting rid of the other speakers? im wondering if it would be better to leave in those other small factory speakers which still work or remove all that old stuff and just run the four kenwood 6.5s from my aftermarket HU.
I only used the top and bottom clips.
They lined up perfectly with the holes on the speaker.
I could've used the other clips, but that would mean drilling more holes into the speaker ring.
Felt solid with two, so I didn't bother with the rest![]()
I like that the grills are not all flashy with chrome or bright colors, looks simple and clean.
Same here. That and price are the reasons I went with these. I still decided to paint mine and make them blend even more.
Thanks 98 SNAKE EATER for this thread.

Are folks attaching these speakers (front and rear) to the door trim panel or to the sheet metal behind it?

While you're in there upgrading your door speakers, it's well worth putting in some Dynamat while you have the door panels off. I've done this ona couple of different vehicles, and they are a really functional and cheap upgrade. They make mediocre speakers sound pretty good.
Mine cost me only $11 for a package of 2 squares (enough for two doors) at the local Future Shop.
