Using both senders is an interesting idea. I have always used the GM senders that the ECU read for engine/tranny function and then in a separate isolated harness use the Toyota senders in the GM block to run just the Toy gauges. The last project I mated everything into 1 harness but it was quite a bit more involved. Great work by the way. I have a new project that I am thinking about, just not sure when or how to do it yet.

Things to do

OK here are the things to do.

Fix the rust, treat the body sealer, remove the fuel lines, Remove the engine mounts, Take of the P/S box, Move the heater hoses and brake lines, Grind everything smooth, treat the frame and under coat. That should keep me busy for the rest of tonight. Post up more in the A.M

Oh my God! She's gone; I can't believe it. The amount of stuff you've done in the short time you've had this truck is staggering.
 
Progress report

OK last night went well. The frame is moving along nicely. It has a little more prep involved. Best mod for under $50.00...Move your vapor canister vent! Who designed that?!:flipoff2: But the fuel lines are ready to come out the firewall is nearly clean, Fuel pressure regulator is ready to plumb, and the frame is almost done. One thing to do while the fender is off, Take care of the body sealer. Enjoy I will be posting again in a bit.

I'm working today so I just got a chance to peak in on your progress. Very cool!
That firewall looks brand new. I'm extremely impressed and I know there's a ways to go.
I would never have believed there was rust in there, but I guess when you strip it down to this level you really find out what's what.
 
Thanks Scott, There is a little bit left but progress is very good. I am happy with the frame prep and firewall. So I am going to get the transfer off and start on the tranny. Once that is done I can bolt it all together. As for the body sealer you can get it at any Auto body supply house or you can use the permatex gasket maker. They are both the same. Here's the finished frame. Less a few things like motor mounts and fuel lines.

That looks super-clean; good for another 240,000 miles. The details are what makes it stand out. The guys here at the Station are getting to see the old cruiser get re-born, but they can't believe she's all the way in Texas.
 
Hey bring one of the Dept. trucks over. I will hook it up!:grinpimp: As far as your's goes it will probably out live me. Tell all the guys at the station I said, Hola from DFW and when are they going to buy a cruiser?

i could only wish the things that you are doing to this rig at the moment,this is another amazing job by you iaintscared69,if only time or money wasn't an issue i'm sure my garage would look close to this.keep it up man,were all watching as you work on another masterpiece.thanks for sharing the experience.as we say it here in cali,YOUR DA BOMB MAN!:cool: john
