Does anyone know if the 62 in tank pump will fit (depth wise) into the 60 tank??? I figure it might be as simple as drilling the right diameter hole for the pump and retrofit a walbro pump as manu did...

Any input?

So the walbro pump is retrofitted into the stock 62 pump housing? (a picture would really be helpful)

How do you run lines for the chevy evap canister?

Yeah you retrofit it into the 62's.... for what I remember the pump is almost identical in size it just puts out the 60psi of fuel yah need for the vortec... The way your run your line into the evap canister is up to yah. look at some of the other threads.. some peeps run them on the back near the tank and others by the engine bay.... whatever yah do, make sure your evan canister is above the fuel level in the tank... or youll run the chance of flooding the canister with fuel....Im no longer using that set up and have it sitting in the garage... I will pull it out and take pics if yah like... if everything works on my current set up I'll start selling stuff out...from my previous set up.

Yeah it does...I think you will be better off sourcing out an fj62 tank...

Thanks manu, definatley would love pics!

What are you thinking of getting rid of? Are you going to a long range tank? I might be interested in some stuff, let me know.

Hey Dan,

Getting to work on my harness. Since you have a factory harness I think the best thing to do is go to All Data and spend the $27.00 for the year truck your motor came out of and run with it. My buddy down here is going to set me up as soon as I get the wiring into the stock fuse box. Are we having fun yet? later matt

I bought a complete fuse box off ebay for $40. I found alot of information on a simple hookup over on ls1tech. I need to get alldatadiy and start going at it. I have alot of stuff to order and do before wiring though... the list keeps growing!

I still got my alldata active... although it is for a 2006 it should be close to what you guys have.
Shoot me a PM if you want the log in info.

Dan, I did.
I got a custom fuel tank for my rig its around 44 gal.

I'll prob be selling the rolling chassis including the 62 tank...I'll let yah know..

Long time since an update...

Got trans rebuilt with 2wd output shaft, got goodies delivered from Advanced adapters, really getting the ball rolling. A lot more to come soon, BUT...

I have a question for the gurus:

the external snap ring on the bearing supplied with the adapter does not fit into the split case groove. The bearing fits fine, and the snap ring fits fine alone, but when you put the snap ring on the bearing they dont fit into the groove. i want to know if this is normal, and it will get pressed in when the adapter and split case are bolted together, or do i grind down the snap ring to fit???

see pictures.

There are two different size snap rings supplied from AA.

they both fit in the groove of the sllit case when not on the bearing

thsese are the grooves for the snap ring and the bearing. snap ring groove is superficial to bearing groove.

bearing fits nicely in its groove

but when you put snap ring on the bearing the snap ring doesnt seat in its groove

anyone that can give me some technical support?

Isn't that the point of the snap ring? You put the bearing in first, drive it all the way in then install the snap ring which prevents it from ever possibly working its way out.

I can't remember its been a while since I did mine but that is what it looks like. Looks like your ready to get this thing moving. Are you doing a rebuild while your at it? I'm kicking my self for not rebuilding mine or at least changing all the seals when I did my swap.

I usually freeze the bearings with dry ice for a few hours and heat the case with a plumbing torch and the bearing will drop right in. I do this with all my mx engines when I do a crank replacement.

But there is a groove for the snap ring to sit in on the splite case side..... this allows the adapter and the split case mating surfaces to sit flush right???

I am only replacing gaskets and seals, the bearings and gears all looked really good.

The bearing should drive in flush with the first groove, then use the the thinner snap ring which will still have the second groove and sit flush If I remember. The bearing will go in farther than flush leaving space.

The snap ring doesn't go around the bearing, It goes on top of the bearing. It will not fit if your placing it around the bearing.

Adapter housing sitting on split case. As you can see the mating surfaces do not sit flush. There is 1/4" gap do to the snap ring not sitting in it's groove.

Is this a better visual of the problem. Seems the snap ring is too wide (circumference) when installed on bearing.

I have heard of people leaving that snap ring off because of an issue like this but I know I used the thin ring on mine in some way. Its been a couple years but I know for a fact I was able to use it. I thought you were going around the fat of the bearing from the first pic but what you got going kinda seems right from what I remember after seeing the picture.

the snap ring you have on there in the pic looks like the thicker one. either way, if i were you i'd call AA tomorrow morning and ask them. they do make changes to the adapters from time to time and in this case, the snap ring might be omitted all-together.

whatever you do, don't sue the screws to "suck" the front case half against the adapter. it should bottom out fairly easily.
also, i would try it one more time with the thin snap ring and the gasket.

Just got off the phone with Jim from AA (great help btw). He is not sure on the issue, and is going to call around to see if anyone else runs into this issue.

I have tried the thin snap ring like 20 times. It definately doesn't fit into it's groove. The bearing fits perfect, nice and snug. I feel like I could grind away just a tiny bit on the snap ring and get it to fit....

I'm stumped on why this doesn't fit properly.
