I'm getting 4" lift Alcans for the rear of the pig :D who has them and did you get them a little longer for a better shackle angel.
I was thinking 1 or 2" longer will that be enough?

Well, I am still debating- go 3" or 4" Alcan's?!?

When ya'all have the lifts in do you mind posting some before/after pics? That would certainly help me decide. I have a 4" Safari lift kit on my trail pig and want something a little smaller or at most, the same height as the trail pig. That would be tall enough for this rig. It should be used for less rock crawlin', more family camping and mild wheelin'. I'm also still trying to decide on some tall/skinny tires to slap on my stock wheels. Any suggestions for tall/skinny, radial, slightly aggressive tires?

Thanks everybody! Carlos

I am going to canyon lands in 5 weeks to brake them in :D

I would definitely go for the 3" Alcan lift then. you've prolly seen these pics before. Front is Alcan 4" and 35's, rear is Safari and 33's. The Alcan is much taller than the safari, even tho they are both 4" lifts.

I did 3" with stock shackles and 33's. They aren't on there yet, but that's what I have sitting waiting to be installed when she comes back from the body shop. I am using mine for expedition type trips, some wheeling, but light. I want something I can get into and out of easier too.

Heres one of the old spring, it has an add a leaf helper spring that is about all but done helping. I use this truck as an expedition rig.
I carry at least 300lbs on my trips. Up front I have a 2 1/2" shekel reversal lift. So it should sit nicly when loaded down and keep my tail from draging

Here's some pictures of my '76 '55 loaded with stock springs and tires and with the SOR 2 1/2" springs and stock tires and finally with the lift and 33"x9.5"x15" BFG Mud Terrains.
