By th way had no clue about your thread or the LHD conversion. Simply awesome. I saw your truck at the first or was it second 70 series meet when it was in my home town of Cullman Alabama. Needless to say it's come a long ways in more ways than one. You will love that 12ht compared to the 2h.

1st 70 Series Meet & Greet .... Cullman, AL :)
The same year Kerry Blaylock had his beautiful 75 Series pickup there.

Well, I got a little bit of spacing between those metal ears/tabs so I will call it good. Will have to try and remember to keep an eye on it in the future.

So when I dug put the starter yesterday, the teeth on the spinning thingy that engages the fly wheel(?) looked excessively worn so I took the starter to a local starter/alternator shop and had them overhaul it. Quick turn, was done by late morning today. Don’t have time to install as I have to prepare to leave for 9 day.

Opened up the upper part of the boot(?) cowl to match a lhd. I think you need the bigger hole so you can replace the wiper linkage, otherwise one would not be able to reach in far enough to push the wiper arm up to bolt it in place. A little bit of surface rust there.

You can also see the hole from the rhd cabin air inlet. This will need to be plugged.

Ok, I hit what I thought was a snag with the wiper linkage assembly. After installing the linkage (85150-60161), the wiper motor would jam. I took the motor off and it looked like the wiper arm linkage was too short. So I installed the original linkage from the donor 86 BJ70. Everything works. So I thought I had gotten the wrong linkage. So while looking at things I saw that where I put the holes for the drivers side wiper arm, like it should be for the 86 BJ70 donor, I noticed that that position might create a interference of the wiper arm with the fold down arm of the fold down windshield. There is another blank spot next to where I made the holes for the drivers side wiper arm installation point. The distance from center of the neighbor blank spot to the center of where I made the hole is just about the same distance as the length of the two arms, 3". So tomorrow I will probably make a new mounting holes for the drivers side. Stay tuned for pictures tomorrow.

Double check but these are what I have in my notes.
