Got some used SCS F5 wheels 16x8 3.5BS. Also went with the Falken Wildpeak MT in a 255/85/16. Might needs some fender flares.

Not with 255s. Maybe with 285/75/16. Flares look good with 305/70/16.

I have the same tire size.
There is always crud splashed on the body but mud does not come in the windows like when I had 285's.
For me, that's a win.

Finally wired up the E-lockers. I used a sPod. And using the Bluetooth function with the app I don’t need to use/mount the head unit in the cab.
I think the wiring loom routing will work.

View attachment 3635728Honestly a defender 110 is a more practical vehicle is there is more than two people ever.

Troopy is the supreme 2 person camper and the defender 110 makes a great 3 person camper with a roof top conversion

Back from a 2.5 day trip. Anchorage to Whittier ferry to Valdez then on to McCarthy/Kennicot then home.

Drive up Thompson Pass. From sea level to above 2800 ft. Still lots of snow, spring having a hard time showing up at elevations above 2000ft.

Found a one track. Followed it for a while, got to a good turning around place, which there wasn’t many, decided to go back not knowing what was awaiting us ahead. But was fun anyway

Tourists can’t drive across the river to McCarthy, residents have their own bridge to drive across. Camped at the base of a glacier.

Kennicot mine located across the lake. Didn’t go see it since we had already toured it another time. Park Service has been slowly restoring parts of it.

Didn’t take many pictures on the drive home yesterday. Did take the time to check out a road to a AT&T tower across the valley from the highway between Glenn Allen and Palmer that we have always looked at over the years. Pretty cool place. A popular hunting spot in the fall.
