I have commitment issues.

But seriously, I just don't feel like painting them permanently yet and plasti dip is super cheap.

These wheels cost $12.50 each. Cost is not really a factor when the paint or plasti will be more than what you paid for the wheels.

Got a local quote of $75 per wheel to take off chrome finish and powder coat them. That includes taking off wheels and then remounting and balancing them?

That is extremely cheap.

50 bucks a wheel here in Central PA to powder coat.

Should be able to find a small tire shop that will charge you for a mount and balance, take the tires off for you then put them back on after the wheels are coated.

I wipe mine down, tape off and spray. The paint lasts one or two trips.

Here is a quick picture DIY.

Is that matte, semi or what?

This looks like the Dupli-Color high performance wheel coating sold at any automotive store- the dark grey. I'm going to give it a shot.

Looks so much better than before. View attachment 819763 View attachment 819766

It's darker than it looks in the picture. Weird.

Looks great. Mine are chrome so I have a local company that will remove the chrome and powder coat for $75 per wheel, plus have to leave my beast with them for a couple of days for them to dismount and remount tires. Seems like a good deal but have to convince the boss this is important. Wish I did not have the chrome and could do what you did.

Thanks. You know you can do this over chrome too. In fact duplicolor has a YouTube channel showing how to do.

You are on the right track. PDip should hold over chrome, but paint will not be reliable over chrome. Strip chrome and powder coat is a good solution. Tell the boss you read that on the interwebs so it must be true.
