Hey folks, I will pull my H out tomorrow and as I get closer to the other half of this swap.

I read in this thread previously that I may run into some issues with the starter and the bell housing and block arrangement, but the thread never showed a final solution.

I pulled the starter off the H and laid it up against the 2H and sure enough, may be an issue. I am looking for some of you more experienced folks to share some insight as to what you’ve done. I would like to keep the 4 speed, or better yet, I would like not to spend on a 5 speed right now.

Blue is 2H, dirtier is H

I'm looking forward to getting to the bottom of this.. I am yet to see photos but by all accounts the 2H starter will indeed fit after a little clearancing with an angle grinder - but its not clear to me where the clearancing is done..

I have a hj45 that we yanked an H out of to replace with a 2H. Starters are not compatible. H bellhousing does not fit the 2H. 2H bellhousing allows you to keep 4 spd. You may need to move the transmission mount though. We were mocking up a 2H with a 5 speed. 5 speed needs more fab work on the tranny cover if you dont have uber rare 40 5 spd top plate.

I have several 2Hs and 2H/12HT bellhousings for sale if you need. I also have the AC bracket kit for the 2H/ 12HT that is for sale.

So the 2H bell housing will mate up to the 4 speed though?
What starter do I need?
Can I still use my H flywheel?

I guess what you may be saying is
New starter
New housing
Maybe new flywheel
Changes to the Clutch?
Any part numbers would be super helpful if you know them.

Thanks @ceylonfj40nut

New starter
New bell housing (2H or 12HT) mates to 4 or 5 speed
2H flywheel
2H clutch and clutch plate
2H tach sensor (if you want rpm reader)
@orangefj45 of valley hybrids maybe able to hook you up. He got me flywheel and terrain tamer HD clutch kit

If not Radd cruisers in Vancouver.
