I’m in the process of finishing up an engine install and desmogging while I’m at it. I’ve got the TLC air pump eliminator pulley installed. I’m guessing my OE adjustment bracket was already bent prior to disassembly and I just didn’t notice. But now without the meat of the air pump giving it some rigidity, it’s continuing to bend, even under light belt tension. Looks like I can get a used one for $50 or so, but didn’t know if anyone had any creative ideas to strengthen the one I’ve already got?

take the bracket off and straighten it in a vice.
never seen 1 bend like that
don't forget the nut on the long bolt

I’d say someone put some ft./lbs. behind
that initial install/tightening…WOW!

Yeah I went back and looked at pics taken before the engine was pulled for rebuild and the bracket was already bent. I had my son tightening it and I’m pretty sure he’s not strong enough to torque it to the point of bending it if was not already compromised.
