Digging this project!

Can't wait to see how the dash turns out.
We it be easier to wire the 80 series dash versus creating something more 55 ish?

I dig it either way!

i sure hope the owner brings it to events for all of us to skeetskeet on it!

More mock-up and a giant pile of wires...

.

Just noticed the notching on the inner fender around the shock tower...is that because you're changing something or because the shock studs always punch a whole through the inner fender? Either way, I know what I'm gonna do to my two pigs;)

And no, trapper, the wiring doesn't put me at ease ;). I'm just wondering how far back the shifter will be, hate to lose my nice bench seat

Dash Pad and glove box fitment complete. The join lines will disappear at a latter date. Next on the list is heat and air

The cut-outs in the inner fender are there so the front clip fits over the LX frame and suspension

interesting, i like those that think outside the box.
i just hope it looks right after all the work you are doing...

I like this concept. Question for you..... Do you forsee any hurdles if one was to cut the entire firewall to the floorboard of the 80' and splice that into the 40??

I know the width is different, but you have already figured that out. Actually, I am thinking about streatching the fj wider like they did in Peru... That is a ton of work, but looked great.

Anyway, appreciate your thoughts on this as it is on my radar to do in the future.

The positives that I see is all your brakes, accelerator, ac/heat, everything is already done. From the project X, I think he mentioned that a 1.25" body lift may be needed for tranny clearance.

Wiring. The dash and interior are all pre-fit and we are finishing up the ac ducting at the moment.

Get those rims off the 80-chassis and throw on some stock 55 rims!

They won't clear the calipers on either end.......:p:p

some custom widened 16'' with hubcaps............:cheers:

OK, so all the prep and wiring and line up and whining and crying are over, SHES ON HER WAY TO PAINT!!!
The non tub parts are already being worked and the tub leaves in the AM for the paint shop (Maple ST Paint and Body)
So here are the progress pics, enjoy.
