I did this mod a while back. Definitely worth it. Much better stopping and feel. I however added the proportioning valve. I have marked off settings for towing or not towing the boat. To be honest it was scary towing the boat before I did this.

i just bought a pile of fittings, a wilwood proportioning valve, and a new master cylinder for my truck.. good thread
Just to verify, is this the proportioning valve you ordered? Wilwood Engineering 260-12627

Nice work Phil! I'm getting tired of looking at that ABS light after my part time kit last year. Getting ready to rebuild all the calipers and flush the system. Nice to see how easy it can be to delete the ABS (assuming you have that front OEM 3-way fitting). I'll need to do some work and figure out the front lines without that fitting. It'd be good to reclaim that fender for a new fuse block setup.

Regarding the plug under the master cylinder. Do you see any reason I couldn't use an AN3 to 10mm fitting with an AN3 cap?

Was at the crusher the other day, chatting about potential “wall art” that could be salvaged from a ‘57 mercury. The guy happened to mention he had a ‘92 LC in the back of the yard.

Would the ‘92 be a donor for the bits & pieces for a non-ABS brake system ?

Yes nice find

Could this fitting be drilled and tapped to accept the passenger side hard brake line?

youve got the front of the master going to the front brakes and the rear to the rear. is that correct?? as ive always understood it, the front of the master goes to the rear brakes ect.. am i missing something?? im assuming the volume and/or pressure of fluid is pre-portioned for each axle from the master directly, before it gets to LSPV..

anybody have input on that???

i did just delete my abs and routed lines the same as in this picture and i dont seem to have and issues. i did second guess it the entire time i was doing it..

Front to the front and rear to the rear and my results are excellent

Deleted my ABS in a similar fashion. Also deleted the LSPV. It stops like a new truck now! Definitely worth the time and effort (which honestly isn't much). The only issue i had was that i couldn't reuse the 90 in place of the LSPV. No matter what i did i couldn't get it to stop leaking. I used a coupler and have had no issues.

Now we can properly brake check people in the fast lane
