IIRC this vehicle has been painted, a color change from the original. Ask the seller to send photos of the door jambs and engine compartment (to check the color of the inside edge of the fenders, firewall, radiator support, and hood)

Heads up that there is a TON of odometer fraud up in this area of California. And I mean a TON. Insist on photos of the VIN locations and run a Carfax before driving or flying to see a vehicle like this.

By this area do you mean this Tracy/Stockton ish area East of the East Bay?

My experience has been East Bay and north...on up toward Valejo...that I have run into a TON of odometer fraud. Usually I've run into it on 100 series, but I think it can't be that much harder (or easier) for them to commit the same fraud on the 80's. Just be safe out there with Carfax and visually inspecting multiple VIN points for yourself.
