Everytime insee an underhood shot of a 1f I'm glad I have my diesel.

Here she is on my farm. 170k on the clock, unlocked, torn leather, and dirty as hell.

Yeah, you see what’s in the cargo compartment? The engine has some kind of issue that the PO couldn’t articulate well (he didn’t know). Once I get to the farm, I plan to troubleshoot with a good buddy of mine whom I have yet to meet in person. He’s a cruiser head of a different magnitude and I look forward to getting this 40th cleaned up and running.
was that a whole entire gallon of chocolate milk spilled in the drivers area?

Dude! I know right? When I spill anything I clean up after myself. Why it was left unchecked? No idea. Hope it isn’t vomit.

The more I think about where to go with this cruiser, I gravitate toward keeping it stock and lightly restoring it. I’ll probably change my mind 69x before settling on a direction. First things first though, I have to retire and actually put my eyes on the cruiser.

Classic case of penis envy. You’ll grow out of it eventually.

I keep hearing good things about the wheeling in Tennessee and parts of the surrounding region. Do you have inclinations towards @baldilocks or @Broski and some others level of wheeling?
Maybe make 1 rig crazy, keep 1 stock-ish, and 1 stock/parts truck?? Worst body gets the crazy treatment?

Any word on the white 93 that needs an engine?

Here's where I see it. All three 80s are not good candidates to be a parts truck; not even close. Here's the way I'm reconciling it in my mind:
1. 1994 - 204,XXX miles and needs nothing, runs great but needs cosmetics (exterior paint, interior carpet, and small touchups). This one will be my wife's cruiser since she loves green so much. Or I might sell it, idk.
2. 1997 two-tone - 206,XXX miles. This cruiser is in pristine condition and I want to baseline and build it for "cruising the land" purposes (camping, hunting, fishing, and ****ing)
3. 1997 40th - This is the project that may have engine issues and you all saw the obvious insides. Long-term, slow and methodical is how I see this one going.

No matter what, I still have a lot of time to figure it out. I don't know if I like wheeling like Baldilocks and Broski; I've never done it. I know I like camping though so I will plan to participate in GSMTR 2023 and maybe Cruise Moab 2023 which will give me approximately 1 year to baseline and build my 2-tone cruiser. I should be able to do it provided the world's supply chain unfornicates itself soon.

Uh wut?

Oops wrong thread bruh….

Because you haven't seen my penis I'll forgive your assumptions. But you're wrong.

I may have a line on a white fj80 with "no engine." Murphy's law dictates that whenever I spout off about things like a possible cruiser for sale I don't end up back in the proper part of town for like a month. I'm pretty sure It's a truck that had an interesting couple of pages on here, but I couldn't find it. If it is the vehicle I'm thinking of it may also have or end up having a salvage title.
I'll keep the community apprised if/when I get some details. I don't have an out of state stash house, so a second cruiser isn't happening for this guy.

Pell, I'm inclined to agree with your assessment of the fleet.

Hey! That’s my 80. I can be there in a couple hours.

Haha not if I get there first 😆

Does that sound familiar to either of you? The person did a full oem A-pillar remove and replace. I can't recall whether for rust or damage though.

So this rig is missing an A pillar? That’s ok…

It exists. Just like sasquatch. I've been watching it darken a corner of a local body shop since pre-covid, but never thought to inquire. Roof is intact now. That's why I thought it might spark someone's memory as a proper A pillar replacement is not any easy task (if it is indeed that truck).
Pell, aren't you glad I jumped into your build thread with this?

Mike, you should buy it. My thread is fine, the mods can move it over to chat, IDC. :flipoff2:

No worries you can talk about what ever you want in you own thread.
