Hey Mud!
Thought it was about time to start a build thread on my 80 Series. I'm sure there is maybe one or two people who obsess as much as me over the aussie cruisers so here it is.
-Backstory
To start, let's get some background on the rig. The rig is a 1991 FJ80 "Poverty Pack" which means it does NOT have a sun roof, fender flares, lockers, leather interior or the larger wheels from the factory. The engine is the 3FE which means its a fuel injected 2F with worse gas mileage... This rigs appears to have lived most of its life in Arizona which means it is rust free! Well as rust free as a 30 year old truck can be. After the truck lived its life in Arizona the truck came into the possession of the renowned Proffits Resurrection Land Cruisers. I did not know this at the time but Proffits had just become a dealer and is now able to sell used cruisers. Anyways I had just sold my BJ60 and I still had that land cruiser itch that needed to be scratched. So I jumped on the opportunity when this rig popped up. So I flew down to Colorado from Montana and picked it up at their shop. Now that was a cool experience! They gave me a tour and I was able to poke around their shop before heading on my journey home. So in one day I drove the old heifer from Montrose to Salt lake where I spent the night. Since I was in Salt Lake I thought it would be a missed opportunity to not visit the Land Cruiser Heritage Museum. Again another cool experience. I will definitely be going there every time I visit Salt lake from now on. Now that brings us to about a year ago.
