Thanks much for the kind words guys. This has been a long project due to the unanticipated issues like a complete frame swap and a toasted T-case. Your comments help keeping my drive going.

I know the feeling. My build has taken much longer than I thought, but all is good. $$$ and time are the control items in the process, as well as lack of covered space for me.

You work is SWEET

WARNING!!! if wiring scares you don't look at the photos.

Lots of wiring with a Vortec swap. All terminal ends are crimped and soldered. Double heat shrink protects wire from bending too tight and splitting

I love Griffin Radiator, they tell you 2-3 weeks and it shows up in 8 days. This is a direct fit FJ62 radiator I had made into an LS version. Swapped top tube and filler neck and added a steam port

I had the lower tank water neck moved over to the far right position and the top tank water neck resized to match gm water neck on teh intake on a stock type 4 core radiator. The top so a stock GM pickup top radiator hose would work and the lower so my GM fan would not hit the lower radiator hose. Can you get Griffen to make these type mode to an otherwise built to spec radiator? I guess I could go bug my buddy with tig welding skills...just wondering?

I see you did some swap work yourself...I might go this route on the next radiator and get my buddy to do some tig stuff and swap things around.

I had both necks sized to the same as the Vortec, 1.5" and 1.25" No problems clearing the fan on the last one so I foresee no issues.

Thank you for the kind words RMutt. :)

So I went to Fan Shrouds R Us, but no luck. No shrouds for an 88 LC with Vortec and manual fan :)
So I made one.

great looking. One question: How do you install it and the fan together?

Yes, installed together. Get a couple bolts in the top of the shroud to hold it in place and just thread the fan on the hub.

Shroud and fan installed. Manual fan pulls plenty of air, no need to go with electric. KISS

Yeah...THe GM fan and fan clutch with a good shroud are the cats @#$%... on my 5.7 I've had zero cooling issues since going that route.
