Why didn't you order the transmission with a 4wd tailhousing? Because it's going to be replaced with a AA adapter anyway?

AA only makes an adapter for the 2wd transmission. To use a 4wd trans, you'd have to swap out the output shaft w/ a 2wd version.

If you are a Cruiser guy and a born and bred gear head, this just has to make you smile. 2- Splt cases and a built 4L60E. Oh yeah, a 5.3L off to the left
Those 3 pieces on the left along with the adapter kit above are going in that roller behind it. That's the body hanging on the lift. The T-case on the right is going in the 92 FJ80 build, you can see the DS front tire on the far right

I do like that table as well. It is easy to come to the conclusion to use any 4WD trans, it just makes sense as there are generally extra ears on the case for mating to the T-case. You would figure adapters would be set up this way.

The tail housing is removed from the trans and the output shaft is cut a little shorter. The adapter is next with a spud shaft. It works well.

Care package from Onur, Body mounts T-case seals and wheel cylinder.

Texting earlier with Stan!
Stan: body mounts, T case seals and wheel cylinders!
Mark: very cool will it be a noticeable difference with new body mounts?
Stan: think your going to be overwhelmed new straight frame , new body mounts an a Repower! Nothing will feel the same!
Mark: no reply necessary just smiles! Researched this Repower for a year! Received quotes from Atlanta California and New Hampshire!
Three phone conversations with Stan and I knew he was my guy for the build! Thanks for what you do and keeping my cruiser on the road for another 25 years!!

I kept seeing a drip coming off the right rear body seam just behind the mud flap, not even enough to make a puddle. This lasted three days, weird, so I pulled the rubber plug and over a gallon of clean water came out. Owner garages the rig so the water entered since here. Finding this leak should be fun.

Check your gas filler neck gasket. Mine is cracked and thats where the water was getting in. Had about a gallon or more as well for a few days of rain, and a car wash. My temporary fix was to use some grease the seal to keep water away.

The saga continues................
A little history... I order a trans from Monster transmission, they tell me 3 weeks, it takes 7 weeks 4 days. 3 days after it arrives I pull the tail housing off to start putting on the adapter, no reluctor ring on the output shaft. Takes them a week to get it to me. Meanwhile I start doing what I can on the adapter to move forward. The bearing for the spud shaft that adapter uses is wrong. Advanced Adapters had them drop shipped from the bearing company 2nd day. AA takes care of customers. Soooooooo I finally have all I need here at one time!!! I put the reluctor ring on, pressed on the spud shaft bearing and bolted the adapter to the trans.

Cooking with gas now baby!!!! Right up until I started taking the T-case apart. Notice the broken off bolt and no keeper, also notice the burnt oil around the idler shaft on the case.

I removed the broken bolt with an easy out, less than 10 minutes. The idler shaft is designed to be stationary with the keeper keeping it in place. The idler gear set runs on two bearings on that shaft. Due to not having a keeper the shaft spun in the front and rear housing galling the shaft, the housings, the inner bearing races on the idler gear set and destroying the bearing and thrust washers. It was extremely difficult just to remove

No, not swapping intakes, the bottom portion of a injector fell off while removing, had to remove the intake to retrieve it. C5 Corvette exhaust manifolds
