Getting ready to wire up a 8274 that I don't expect to see heavy use. I did get a blue sea marine battery isolator to be able to switch off the positive under the hood until needed.

Planning on using copper 2 gauge wire, but wanted to get thoughts and what are good sources?

Thanks,

I used a local truck supply place once to get cables made up. Others buy welding cable and make their own. Consult a wire gauge chart for length/gauge recommendations. As well as max draw according to Warn. I added a fuse. (There is a thread here somewhere on fusing a winch) (I'm usually a belt and suspenders kinda guy though.)

Warn supplies 2 gauge cable for most of their winches, and honestly it's adequate.

But, if you're doing it from scratch, I'd make up 1/0 cables. You're looking at almost no extra $$ and getting less voltage drop under load.
