The Newsletter listed the wrong coupon code in the product description. LOCKDOWN did not work so following the logic of the other coupon names I got LOCKMOUNT to work. Also, it didn't offer me free shipping but I don't know if that was because I added other items or if it is a discount that is applied later. I went ahead and ordered anyway.
 
@wearsabrowncoat yup that's why I sent a second email newsletter like 30 mins later when someone else pointed out the mistake. ;)

And yes, it does charge shipping if you order extra stuff. I've been contacting everyone one by one. If they want the extra stuff shipping sooner then the shipping charge is accurate. If you are ok to get everything shipped together when the Lockbox is ready then I will indeed refund shipping.
 
That makes sense. I guess I was expecting it all at once but you can leave shipping charge on and send me whatever you have in stock.
 
You coulda kept my 2 bucks and change. But thanks for the refund. Can't wait to get this put in.
 
Ordered and paid via a CC as the use my PayPal account wouldn't work. No clue why, it did on the last order, I may truly be the problem on that one.

Patiently waiting....is it done yet?

The production order will go in on Monday. Was hoping to get more people interested so that I could at least meet the minimum threshold. Turns out no where near the number of people are getting it compared to those that were interested. I figured as much because seems typical for the 80s crowd. Bummer.
 
:meh:...stinks on the orders, hell $100 seemed pretty cheap really for what it takes to get anything done, build, etc, shipped.

Speed reading the first email I was thinking the $3xx price was the box only maybe with a special combo lock or something and was seriously thinking of backing out.

Yeah at the largest Group Buy package you get a WHOLE lot more than just the LockBox.

Oh and stop speed reading my newsletters. I only send like one every two months :flipoff2:

Sadly, I don't think it's just the 80 series folks. Years ago, I built a custom motorcycle and did a detailed build thread on a bike forum. I made a custom shifter/clutch setup and people went INSANE for it. "Are you going to be making these to sell?" "I'd buy one." and so forth. I ended up making a bunch of them and about 5% of the folks who were absolutely dying for it actually bought one. Lesson learned on my part. I really hope that folks will step up and either buy the products that they say they'll buy from you or tell you honestly that they're not interested upfront when you're in the r&d phase. I'd hate for you to give up on us 80 people. Your ideas are too good.
 
Random thought, but could you build the box that would fit all the consoles, and perhaps make a adapter or filler per model? So one box, and then select which LC/LX/YR adapter to use?

Probably to much overhead or variation. Just a thought.

No because the smallest box, LX, would be the standard size. Not a lot of room.
 
Have we reached an order point to even make it possible to produce at these prices? If another round of chip in is needed, spread the word :cheers:

I think you will like the newer style console better. I deep six'd my LX console long before the lock box was an option and never looked back.
 
Hey Joey. Group Buy closed? the "Quickdraw" coupon code won't work anymore on the site. Sorry, I dragged my feet on this one, (haven't even discussed with the wife yet as I've gotten a few toys lately for the cruiser), but wanted to be a man of my word as promised. Did my procrastinating cost me the discount (totally understand if so)?

Well, I haven't even reached the half way point for the minimum order for the metal work so at this point I'm already committed :( . Hopefully I'll be able to move more of these once people start seeing the Lock Boxes installed...I hope :p
