Dang. I'm out. Full-sized 1911 with ambidextrous safety and an 8-round magazine:

8 3/4" Length
5 7/8" Height
1 9/16" Width

Sorry if I missed this, but why not take advantage of more of the depth of the 80-series console and make this lock box taller/deeper? Any plans for a larger size down the road? I know this kills the concealability with the liner a little, but sure would be nice to fit a full-size 1911 in there.

Correct, full size 1911 won't fit. If there is enough demand then I will consider the larger box. Right now there isn't even enough demand for this LockBox as it is.

Are you sure it won't fit at an angle? If not, time to downsize to commander length. Shot one of my best scores at an IDPA with a loaner commander once.

The Lockbox includes the inside UltraSuede or MicroSuede (I haven't settled on which) inside wall lining along with a rust inhibiting foam rubber liner for the LockBox itself. The Concealment Liner is extra and goes over the top of the LockBox giving it "false bottom" feel.

I will keep it in mind. Its not a huge deal to make it for the next version. Need to drum up support for it ;)

The early 80 series re-used the 60 or 62 series consoles, or at least is VERY close to it, so that isn't that surprising. Kinda stinks but that's what it is. You can still get the other goodies though and I know there was a 60 or 62 series box in the works. It might take a while but you can hop over to the 6x series forum and comment in that thread to help your cause.

Did I miss something? I signed up for the newsletter last night thinking I would get an email with the code for the group buy price of the lockbox but haven't received anything yet.
