Samshah, your not going to get a lot of love if you don't introduce yourself first.

Let me be the first to say, Welcome to Mud :flipoff2:
We need details of your rig, where you live etc...
Oh, and a couple pictures are always important (of your Landcruiser)

If you read the first two pages of the thread you will find that the person to talk to about the Offset bracket you are looking for is member "Akella".

Cheers, and good luck finding your part

Doug

Thanks a lot Doug, sorry for not introducing my self
im from port moresby, papua new guinea. recently just bought spare wheel carrier for my landcruiser but cannot put the tyre as yet, since i dont have any bracket to put on my license plate.
Thanks again Doug

No worries samshah,

Port Moresby! Thats a long way away... You would probably have better luck looking in Australia than anywhere here in North America?
There are lots of HDJ81's running around Australia and NZ. Is there shipping between you and Aus?

What about these guys? Toyota Distributor PNG, Automotive Distributor - Ela Motors

I know how it is finding parts living in small places. I had the only HDJ on the little Caribbean island we used to live on...

I would expect to pay somewhere around US$250 for the license plate bracket new.

When I needed a new bracket I couldn't find one anywhere (living in TCI) so I modded a bracket I had off an old Honda CBR600 motorcycle....

For the last week, I've had a "like new" one for sale in the JDM parts for $100 - with no takers. For that $$$, maybe I'll keep it!

I am surprised that it is still available with all that interest here.:hillbilly:

One footnote. The license plate mounting bolt spacing is wider than the US spacing so alternate mounting is required.

Alternate mounting... yup. I drilled through my license plate. Worked like a dream and no, the Po-Po don't hassle me on it.:flipoff2:

Thanks again Doug, I have search australian web site nothing there and also ela motor, have to let my wheel carrier without tyre for a while

The actual lamp part of the assembly is the same as that which goes under the tailgate when you dont have a tyre carrier. its just the cover piece that's different. the previous owner of my car had bodged an under tailgate lamp onto the number plate holder so i just bought the correct cover that says 'landcruiser' on it and transferred the internals. It cost me around £15-£20 if i remember correctly.

As long as you have the original lamp near your tailgate handle, save yourself some money and re-use the bulbs and holders from that and just transfer them into the 'landcruiser' cover.

I'm afraid that doesn't help any with the really high cost of the actual number plate holder though.

Hmm...$20 bucks used in good condition on Yahoo auctions. I should scoop them up and ransom them off to all you with the deep pockets..:flipoff2:

Do whatever you are most comfortable with.....

Well placed jab, Dan..
