My brown on tan 92 is about to get a h42/split case compliments of Georg @ Valley Hybrids along with a number of other assorted parts from Onur and Kurt. I'm a good month out on the case combo due to the snow in the Mtn passes, but that's ok as I need to make some space in the barn anyway. I also have a FF rear coming that will be going in it at some point along with a number of other things to polish this piglet up. Should be fun.

I could give you a line of crap, but at the end of the day I'm just an 80 guy.

Now here's the long version if you're interested: I picked this truck up with a iffy trans (won't shift for sh!t cold but does fine once it's warmed up, think it's something in the valve body) and honestly was gonna lift it, lock it, cut it and wheel the piss out of it. But I got it home and after going over the truck, it was clean, inside and out and save a missing flare and bad clear on the hood, it is a great low milage truck (160k on a 1992). I went back and forth on it and decided I couldn't beat this truck up. So I found a good used slush box to go in it and then got the sloppy seconds coils from @FJ60Cam and the plan morphed into making a good 3rd vehicle for mom to drive in the winter. So while I'm working on the lift and sorting out some particulars we got the GX and now I'm back to a blank canvas to play with. So I been tossing around doing a swap on this truck since I first got it. Then after helping @Bama4door with his case rebuild and chatting with him about his 62 I started looking around for parts. I had @beno source me the 80 series peddle assembly and after a few more discussions he says "you need to quit looking for space cadets and call Georg and be done with it" and he gave me his info, gave him a call to lay some groundwork and the next day the snowball was rolling hard and gaining speed.

Along with the manual and FF swap, I'm also going to do the FZJ "big brake swap" on the 92 front axle. Find a replacement DS flare and have the hood and front fenders repainted and recleared. Swap the ome stock coils for some heavies I have sitting around, level the rear, add a set of SCS Stealth 6 wheels in dark bronze and some new 315s. Minor interior tweaking, radio, speakers, DS seat foam, etc.

Basically this 80 is morphing into my "Patina". It didn't start that way, but it's gonna end there.

Got this picture from @orangefj45 earlier today.

I'm looking forward to seeing if I can pull it all together.

Looks like I need to find that thread on cleaning up the master control switch...

I said screw cleaning that switch up, at least for now. 93 Camry switch is exact same PN and fits perfectly in my recently acquired undamaged trim piece.

Operational testing to commence later tonight.

How to prime your fresh 1fz build after the harbour freight drill pump fries in under 60 seconds. I get zero credit for this one but thought this crew might utilize it one day

Motor swap commencing in T minus 5hrs... you know when the snow starts lol

Fastenal called today to let me know my crate had arrived. Good thing too, because a quick trip down the drive in the cold today may have finished off the trans that was already on its way out.

Should pick it up sometime next week.

Random Q.

Bolts holding front bumper on are M12x1.25, correct? Any idea on length? 30mm work?

Bilstein 5100 shock for rear of 80. Part number 24-238885 fits for 2-3.5" of lift. Only have one. Asking $55 brand spanking new

@offr0adlim0 what would you need shipped to 37221? And how did you end up with just 1?

I will check on shipping cost tomorrow. My guess is $15 or so. I ordered one just to verify they would work with my lift on my little 80 and ended up getting a deal on a set of four from another brand.
