The parts distributor sales guys of the area do that. It may or may not be the same in every area. They literally go back there and re-box parts.
Which is actually how come you can get a different part if you buy two of the same box. Hate that aspect of parts sales.

Cloth 80 seats wanted
I know it's a long shot but it looks like we are going to do another Alaska trip this summer and I would really like to find a set of cloth manual seats for an 80 before the trip. Gray cloth preferred and really only need the front two but would take first and second row if I can find them. Would y'all help keep an eye out for a set for me? They dont need to be purfect -just servicabke. Thanks-D

You going to drive that 3FE truck all the way up there or haul it?
Heck no. I picked up a totally beat 93FZJ with elockers really cheap and will send that via Roger and fly up. As the Shunt would say "ain't nobody got time for that".
not too bad at all when we got the truck from you 
but by now the driver side seam is ripping up - the passenger side seat gear is no longer working, either, and it needs a new switch - and since the seats need to come out and the leather needs to be taken off the seat even if I just had the seam restitched or replaced the switch on the other seat, I figured I support a well-known cruiser business and put some new leather on
in turn, the truck now has a "Tools" interior tire carrier with a Puma air compressor, and a 12K winch
, and we just bought the used Short Bus in Lafayette 
and thanks for the radiator shield (gave us an opportunity a drive into the countryside where we hadn't been before )

I own the rig that bhmmapping threw the H42 manual tranny in and made P/T 4WD... While awesome, and very cool to drive... it ain't me. I miss my auto. It's just me.
I wanna trade it. I'd even take stock 3FE... but would rather trade for something RTR, ready to rock.
