just in case somebody comes across a used ARB for an 80, send me a PM - we feel we need more protection for the mall

Thanks in advance  Claudia

Now that the PITA bumper swap is over I need to move on to some diff protection. I obviously beat up the front pretty good at SCC and came an inch or so from pinching the front ring gear and bringing my wheeling to a halt. I'm planning to pull the front axle to do the diff guard, knuckle rebuild, brakes, bearings and the pinion spacer I've had for over a year  I like how Noah's diff protection came out for his 80 and would like to follow with something similar :) The challenge is getting the weekend to do it :D

He cut off about 2 inches of the top of the Trailgear diff armor to clear the steering arm, then used a piece of the cut off that had a break bend in it for a little slider for the diff plug.

I didn't read through his whole thread but did he leave some way for water / mud / whatever to drain out of that armor? And that is exactly what I am looking to do for the drain plug. Bart swears that the drain plug caught this rock on the end and completely rolled it end over end while I was winching through this section of trail.

Hey Landry, I tried looking for that aux cargo light install that you did, but couldn't find anything. Do you have to pull the headliner?

Sorry bud I thought I posted it, no I didn't have to take down the headliner there was enough room to fish the wires with a coat hanger I did unscrew that rear light to give it some flex and tapped the hot lead from that rear light so it's on the same fuse :)

Excellent! Do the speaker grills just pop off? I started prying on one tonight and quit bc I thought I was going to break it.

I had trouble with mine as well they had some metal washers that press onto the plastic stud to lock them in place I used stainless screws to reattach them to the existing bracket I'll try to find some pictures for you :)

like dat !

they are great - all the Cooper State Cruisers 80s are getting them - me included, for our Baton Rouge 80 :D

Tools R Us has two unsold left from his latest production run - I could bring one on the plane for free; pick-up in Louisiana wherever mutually convenient - I am going to Arizona the weekend of March 16/17 . . .

PM me for details and PayPal address

That's awesome of you to offer, I have a full deck so it wouldn't work for me or I'd certainly take you up on it :)

well, this won't be my only trip to Arizona, so if anyone wants one at a later date, feel free to inquire again

Interesting option if anyone ever has issues with the "e" in elocker, especially if you already have OBA...

that is the way to go rather than fight the E for electrolysis :D

So I got my frontend out this weekend and have a weeks worth of blasting, painting and cleaning to do. That front end had seen its better days and hopefully I'll get to do the rear next offseason. Paul and I were discussing the fact its doesn't matter how many times you rebuild one of these its still one of the filthiest jobs you can do on your rig no matter how much you try not to make a mess :frown: spilled the gear oil and grease solution into the grass trying to move it so I could break it down I thought I was in the clear missed staining the cement :) but here comes Kristen in some new tan shoes with her puppy dragging right through it when my back was turned :bang: Ordered a second box of Marlin goods today so I'm hoping I'll have everything covered when its time to put it all back together.
